Edited by: Wartrec on 27/10/2010 11:32:02 I read a lot of complaints about macro miners on the forums. Its fairly easy to stop macro miners. Im a retired programmer and I know how I would do it. Im sure CCP has many programmers who could easily do it if they wanted to. Be careful of what you ask for. I do not advocate macro mining but you have to be realistic about what would happen to EVE without it. Without macro miners all ore prices would go sky high. Until more players start mining ore prices would continue to rise. Everything in EVE would cost much, much more. No more cheap ships and modules. No more cheap anything. All you pirates would have to start mining part time or become carebears. New players would have to become miners or CCP would have to change the game mechanics. On the good side us rich carebears will get richer and you poor players will get poorer.
Why this scenario will not happen. CCP wants to keep a healthy economy. A healthy economy keeps the PLEX flowing and players happy. Most players like the way the game is playing. CCP does not want an economy in EVE like earth's economy without oil.

Good point, though I doubt anyone from CCP will post on this thread to confirm your observations

also, there are diagrams, showing that most minerals are not produced by mining. Mission loot and rogue drone compounds produce a lot. Without macro miners, more people would loot missions, and the drone regions would have more people in them, farming the drone npcs.
So pretty much nothing would change, if every macrominer and mining barge/exhumer vanished and never returned.

/agreed
People hardly loot missions or drones because the mineral prices are on an all-time low. A lot of non-macro miners quit mining because it's hardly profitable anymore. Perhaps things will get more expensive - but new players who mine for a while will also get more ISK to buy stuff.
I honestly don't see the problem. Unless a large portion of the EVE subscribers is actually macroing and EVE will lose a substantial part of its playerbase once they get banned.

Strange way of picking a topic: something you don't care enough about to research and understand. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

You fail at eve economy. The mineral index used to be more than double what it is now and PLEX's cost less than they do now.
