I found a way to deliver completed jobs in bulk by simply selecting all of them and clicking deliver.
Is there a way to do something similar for inventing? For example, I want to select ten BPCs in my hanger, set the options for decrypter/default hanger/etc one time, and then finish.
It's a tiresome one-at-a-time click-fest as I understand it. Is there a better way?

Nope. When submitting the jobs you have to pick the assembly line for each BPO. If you picked 10 BPCs (in a batch) and only had 9 open assembly lines, it would probably crash the whole EVE system !
I think the reason for having to select individual assembly lines is so that if someone else is also installing jobs, you don't end up both trying to use the same assembly line at the same time (which would probably crash the whole EVE system !)
And no, they aren't going to change that just because a few people have their own personal labs that only they have access to (like me).
And the clicking to do inventions is no where near as monotonous as doing PI, though the Invention process could use a little work (i.e. some changes in the settings so you can pick default locations, especially when installing jobs remotely, being able to ID copies from originals without having to look at every single item every time you do a copy job, etc).

Edited by: Lady Guenever on 28/10/2010 12:41:30 I thought as much. It's worth a look though, considering how many clicks it takes to invent one toon's worth of bpcs (ten), daily, and manufacture some of the T2 prints, one at a time...

I've suggested the similar thing in the past without any significant CCP response.
I would be happy with what you suggest of selecting a number of blueprints and execute teh same settings for all - and doing so they would all be queued up on the assembly line. tbh shouldn't be too hard to check if all blueprints have the same values and just multiply everything.
If one blueprint is different it could just return you an error imo. As much as PI is a clickfest, the indutry side have been for ages.

Edited by: Chrome Ozone on 28/10/2010 13:38:30 While you still have to do the clicking to get the part where you pick the assembly line, after that you can just hit enter until it is installed. While not great it beats continuing to move the mouse around and clicking.
Right click on BPC - Invention Click to select a array Click to select an assembly line spam enter like crazy
It would be a delight for it to remember settings or allow multiple installations at once like Chribba stated but that has been known for ages.
Edited for trying to post at 8:30 in the morning. Spelling fail.

Yep, exactly what I had in mind. Sad to see that it's been overlooked for so long, it would certainly be useful. Also considering the key-binding and overview are getting some love, this should fit right in.
I imagine the CSM is the best place to petition the idea?

doing module invention in large scale at a pos makes the PI click fest look like a joke.

I've hoped that CCP would implement batch jobs and job templates for ages. Doesn't look like that will ever happen.

The problem is of course, that people like me can't be bothered doing invention while it's so much of a clickfest, so there's some profit in it. As soon as it becomes 'easier' I'll start doing it (as will many others) and the profit will evaporate as the supply picks up.
In the end, what you actually want is to make it HARDER.
