Hi.
Recently there has been a slight bump in mineral prices, some have increased more than others, especially nocxium and megacyte.
Nocxium has increased several hundred percent and megacyte has gone up at least 30%.
The question is, will this continue?
Morphite is still at an all time low, zydrine also, winter is coming and so is another expansion and everyone knows people tend to play more eve during the cold part of the year.
I think both morphite and zydrine could see a huge bump soon, 30-40% minimum doesn't seem unrealistic to me.
What do you guys think?
Oh and also, give us a "loans" forum section, imo loans have nothing to do with market discussions.

I think, theres short term and long term variations on prices of minerals do to various reasons. When ever they go up or down, well thats another matter...

Morphite price gain seems to be kinda low probability especially considering how the 'passive' RP gains on inactive accounts are affected. At least in foreseeable future of few months - what happens after that prolly even CCP cant predict with reasonable accuracy. Fluctuations and manipulation are always option ofc.
As far as other minerals go I would speculate that market is a bit nervous bcos of all the fighting in the drone regions direction.

True, one thing I have been thinking about though is how many miners will swap over to bistot / arkonor once they realize that megacyte prices are almost up to 3000 isk/pu which makes it alot more profitable to mine that instead of mercoxit. As it stands now it's about 1,5 mil more isk per mined can of bistot compared to mercoxit and even more if ur mining arkonor.
Also, like u said the droneregions are a bit nervous right now.

I dont think anyone in their right mind is mining Mertoxcit currently so everyone would be mining Ark/bist/crokite or perhaps even dark glitter over mertoxcit if possible. Granted I have not actually looked at mineral and ice prices during the past 6 months so correct me if I'm taking a bit too wild swing with that statement.
It's just that Mertoxcit kinda stopped being the best thing to mine a waaaaaay back. Around 2006 if I remember correct shortly after introduction of exhumers as then you had mining barge capable of mining it. After drone regions opened up it went from 'not the best thing to mine' into 'somewhat unreasonable stuff to waste time on'.
I would speculate that drone compounds dropped in hi sec missions alone could cover the EVE need for morphite. Assuming people would actually bother looting those missions instead of just letting it rot and blitzing another one.

Both yes and no.
Yes it was way more profitable back in 2006 but as late as last year you could still get 10k per unit in Jita. Not too bad.

Almost 10 mil per can if u mine arkonor. thats almost 4 mil more than Mercox and 3 mil more than bistot. __________________________________________________

I expect Nocxium to hit 450-500 peak, and be stable around 350-375 ISK pu.
Zydrine and Morphite are good buy for long term investment. Anyone interested on mineral market exposure without having to trade should invet in BSAC Mineral Reserve.

Price per can is not a valid comparison with mercoxit vs other minerals. You need a different strip miner with a different yield to mine mercoxit. The profitability depends on the skills of the miner, at max skills crokite has had a better ISK/hour ratio than mercoxit for a long time.
With Orca bonuses Max mercoxit yield (Skiff): 1714 Max other ores (Hulk): ~2832 Mercoxit per minute to other ore per minute ratio: 0.60522
With Rorq bonuses Max Mercoxit yield (Skiff): 1903 Max other ores: ~3132 Mercoxit per minute to other ore per minute ratio: 0.60760
This means that in order to compare the price of mercoxit to other ores you have to reduce the price per can by ~60% since you can only mine 60% as much in the same amount of time.
Currently Mercoxit is worth about as much as Hedbergite per hour.
Edit: With lower skills and lower bonuses that ratio just gets worse.

Nocxium contains the most energy. So it is best to stockpile it for when the winter comes and it gets cold. It is the favourite mineral of the Aries.
Capricorns should sell all their tritanium, because PL is going to kick their Uranus eventually. Haha, I meant the Scorpions, sorry.
Capricorns should buy isogen. Isogen has got the best CO2 footprint and is generally recommended for all hoofed mammals. --

Huh? What have you been smoking?
Mercoxit has a volume of 40m3, so 3289.17/40 = 82.229 = 82 units of Mercoxit per cycle.
3289 m¦ per cycle.
Did you forget to add in the 60% bonus the skiff gets per exhumer level?

Yes prices will rise up to the expansion and with winter coming... But sales tax etc on 1 % kinda nullifies the idea in day trading but yeah if you invest lets say 50 bil in minerals now it wil be 55 - 60 bil after patch guarenteed.

Anyone who invests 50B at patch time to earn 5-10B profit is an idiot.
All the cash can be deployed more effectively elsewhere.

Actually it's not 3289m3/cycle, it's 3544.54m3/cycle.
I'm not sure what game your playing but in the eve the rest of us play, 1 cycle does not equal 1 minute. 3544.54 * (60s / 119.25s[the fastest possible cycle]) = 1783m3 per minute, maxed out tech 2 mining drones have a 60s cycle and a max yield of 62.5m3 which means they can only get 1 unit per cycle (40m3) and the skiff can only hold 3 drones so that's an extra 120m3 per minute for a total of 1903m3 per minute.
You are right though, there was an error in my calculation, I forgot to skim off the extra m3 on the strip miners that can't be had due to the volume of mercoxit so it's actually 1760m3/minute + 120m3/minute = 1880m3 per minute. I didn't bother with this in the hulk calculation either so let's do that.
Hulk: 1856m3/cycle * 3 (hulks have 3 strip miners) = 5568m3/cycle * ( 60s / 119.25) = 2801.50m3 / minute Drones: 240m3 / minute
Total: 3041.5
Mercoxit per minute is 61.811% what you could get with a hulk mining ABC. So you're right, I was off by about 1% but this doesn't make a difference in the value order of ore.
