I'd love to see ANY of you take your Chevy Cavalier (you loser) into the dealership and demand a reduced payment that month because "it needed fixed and I couldn't use it." <snip>
For physical goods your argument holds some weight but when talking about a non-tangible service it begins to falter. When the local telco screws up their routing table and my T1 is down for a day you can bet your ass that they are going to discount my bill a proportionate amount. When the ASP model EMR we use at work goes down, you can bet that the vendor is going to comp me for the time that we were down.
I'm not playing devil's advocate 'cause I'm a CCP fanboi, just merely pointing out the fact that you are trying to compare apples and chairs.
Absolutely correct. We're paying for a SERVICE (access to the game server). Unfortunately, the fine print in CCP's Terms of Service probably say they aren't responsible (financially) for down time. Even so, this is SCHEDULED down time, not a random server breakdown.
My cable/internet providers routinely schedule downtime for system maintenance etc. that I don't get reimbursed for. This SCHEDULED upgrade, should , if it [ahem, cough] works right [ahem, cough] improve the game play experience. So maybe we all need to just hush and let CCP do their thing. If you don't like it, you can always take your $14.99 elsewhere next month.
*claps* actually "scheduled" downtime ended quite awhile go so that falters also.

I FIGURED IT OUT! I just realized the reason so many people get bent when the update doesn't pop at the predicted time!!! It's because as the time crawls closer and closer to CCP opening the flood gates to spacial happiness, they get more and more excited... counting the seconds, quickly reaching climax, And then... BAM! Another delay...
... oh yea, my point was, they're mad they soiled/nutted their pants and have to change.
*Wanders off to change his pants.*

The hell do you need a life for when you can float around in spaceships instead? After all, real life is just something the government made up to steal our money!

CCP completed the deployment of a patch before the revised estimated time, they only extended once.
They're getting better at this, and I shall have to give them this "Most Improved" award.

Not really. This patch has been advertised in advanced, and was scheduled, we were all warned so therefore it is a scheduled downtime. Granted, longer then the usual hour, but by all definitions of scheduled, it qualifies.

What could possibly happen to you whiners if downtime is extended for another hour or more? DonŠt you have something close to real life? Aynthing? Do you feel totally paralized when TQ is down?
Lmao, well i understand that completely, i always look at the forum for those reactions cause they are ****ing funny!! im sometimes afraid they hurt them selfs if it would take another hour!!:P:P
I want to play another 30 years so i have the time, hoping i still like the game at that age!!:(

I dont know but WoW dont have so many DT as Eve. I really dont understand the reason of daily DT neither. Can someone explain the reason for daily DT? Please.
How many players does an average wow server have? There's your answer (well, partly anyway).
The count of players is not reason for DT!
