Develop a few vices, especially in null sec, so that with luck you can be compromised and blackmailed. If you cannot manage a vice or two, just be foolish. If you can't be foolish, be incautious. If corp director is heavily involved in alliance diplomacy, convince yourself that it's only your fascinating personality, wit and friendship that attracts him. Accept favours from officials. When they ask some harmless service in exchange for good money, accept at once.

Spy - Find a good hiding place and stay there. Watch people and everything going on. Remember anything that happens and report to the rest of your team.
Shadow - Choose your teammate to follow and follow them keeping in the shadows and hiding. Another way is to disguise yourself or blend in with other people.
Describing - Sit or stand in a certain place. As people go by study them carefully. Write down in notebook when they've gone, Put it on the computer. Don't stare or let them know you are watching.
Disguising - Dress up and pretend to be other people. Go out and people won't recognize you.
Talking - Practice talking in different voices. This could also help with disguising.
Escape - Practice escaping from places
Hide - Practice hiding from your enemies by playing hide and seek
Share your spy gadgets with other team members if they can't get one.
Practice on your parents.
Get vent, if you are working with a partner.
Use disguises or costumes.
Use makeup to hide your true identity. ~_~

First tip: Don't make a thread asking to be a spy and use the same account to do so.

Firstly, think about the things you'll need if you want to be accepted into a decent corp/alliance. Vent or TS3 are pretty much essential here.
Secondly, think about the usual security measures people use to root out obvious spies. Use a second account to bypass limited API checks. Everybody has jita alts and hauling alts these days, so you dont really need a totally clear account, just make sure there's nothing overtly suspicious in their employment history.
Thirdly, dont leave a paper trail to your main. This means no contracts between the two, no isk donations in the two weeks before you apply to the target corp (this still shows up on limited API iirc).
If you bear simple measures like that in mind, lying out of your arse to your new corpies is easy...just don't ever get emotionally attached to them. They are your victims and you ARE going to screw them over.

One point to consider is where are you going to draw the line?
By this I mean how far are you willing to go to gain trust before screwing someone over. I know a few people in-game who I have subsequently met up with oog. I have accepted RL hospitality from these people and returned said hospitality in kind. At this point these people have gone from IG corp mates to RL friends.
Other corp mates have even been offered accommodation at other corpmates homes whilst on holiday etc.
All game/ RP considerations aside, there is no way I would ever screw over a RL friend, regardless of how/ where I met that person.
It is up to you of course where you draw this line (assuming you care to), but I for one would consider backstabbing someone who has invited me into their home to be the very worst form of betrayal. This is not something I would be prepared to do over a game, no matter how much ISK I stood to make.
As another poster mentioned, be wary of making an emotional connection with others if you intend to screw them over.
Peace.
Note: I do not currently engage in corporate espionage, but I do enjoy the fact that such things are possible in this game. It all adds to the risk ----
