I love eve and i just thought of this so please give me all the feedback you want good and bad. I was just thinking of the idea of adding anamoly star systems to the eve game map. since most of the systems you travel through are single star habitable systems. What about adding Binary star systems, and tertiary systems, or red dwarf systems each could have their own individual advatages, access to gases or minerals you can't find anywhere else locally. and disadvantages, like a teritary star system could have delay on warp initiation because of the heavier gravitational fields from having three stars, or other wormhole like effects. I think it would make the game a bit more interesting to have to navigate environmental hazards like this to get access to rare resources available in harder to traverse systems. well it's a thought, since the wormholes have set the precedent i didn't think it would be too much more difficult to make happen but let me know what ya think of the idea.

Enviromental hazzards would be an interesting addition to the game, we already have WH effects... some mining featured that can damage your ship (I dont have much experience with these), that mission with the gas cloud in part 3.
The backstory of Eve I think states that jumpgates were only build in systems with habitable planets for obvious reasons, so to suggest that one might be built in a system with a Novaing Star or huge gravitational storms (or whatever) may not fit in with the Eve storyline.

read the back story, jump gates require binary star systems to function so all systems we use are binary.
I believe you will find more of that you are talking about already exist in wormhole space. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

Look out your internet spaceship window. Have you seen a single binary system in k-space? No. It ancient backstory that doesn't go along with the game becuase it was made during th alpha version. CCP has said they want to rewrite all those broken scientific articles.

Another option would be to use the current worm hole system and have some of the systems they access not be sleeper systems

While it's true the background story says they require binary star systems, name one system in the game with more than one sun. Not to mention opening up uninhabitable systems (Which would mean resources that haven't been mined since star gates don't go there, would deepen the exploration feel of the game. Not even adding gates but using a varient of the current probe and warp system that's running the wormhole exploration. nothing that would require a radical shift from the game mechanics already in place but something that would add a new element to the game.

Usually in binary star systems, the stars are orbiting quite a far way out.
Our sun, from the other planets such as Neptune, appears no more than another star in the sky, nearly identical to all the rest (A teeny bit brighter) So it is possible that all our solar systems are binary, the only reason we can't notice it is because the binary star looks like any other star due its distance.
Back on topic,
Yes, it would be nice to have anomalous systems. Perhaps a system with a brown dwarf (Burnt-out star) So that the system is very dark. The lights on all our ships would seem much brighter than usual (and more noticeable), which I think would be rather nice. _____________________________________________

From what I understand, a brown fwarf is basiclly Neptune on fire. Its a tiny, low gravity star which is unable to do nuclear fusion effectively. Therefore is unable to produce hydrogen and oxygen, which is pretty much what stars do for a living.
Also, what you are thinking of as a burned out star is called a white dwarf.

Everything above just proves why the addition of anomaly systems would be a good idea. Regardless of brown dwarf, red dwarf white dwarf, black hole, red giant, binary or tertiary, it would add a more natural feel to the game, as well as greatly expand on the idea of exploration in the game. I think the idea of limited Jump portal probes is also one worth looking into, as a means of travel to anomaly systems. They would add a new element to the probe launch system and bring a new style of combat into the game, if they could be used in k-space as well as for finding anomaly systems. The idea of finding these systems and jumping in to find rare resources in abundance, is an interesting one, cause if these systems have no jump gate, then no one has ever mined them out. so the mineral and gas resources of the system would be untouched. All in all I think it's a sound idea worthy of attention from CCP.

i like these ideas. Tempoary spawned systems that would always connect to something but if no one is left in system they would despawn
