Edited by: Killian Burns on 05/11/2010 23:33:01 Maybe before complaining about the others you read the forum rules first, huh? Part about screenshot posting. Damn rule breaker! And how about guy speaking french, or you hate only russians?

Most cases it's Russian speaking in english channels. It's rude and very annoying! How would they like it if we went over to their channel and spoke english, french, spanish and whatever. Most cases they would be able to understand it but the french. Makes you thing if they can't obey that simple rule what other rules are being broke. And I just woke up so I mite be a little too over the top, but it is a big pet peeve of mine since I have started playing this game. Sorry if I offended anyone one. But damn, speak in your own channel!

How are we supposed to test if Russian works in Local?

It would be so much easier to use the pangram, "Съешь ещё этих мягких французских булок, да выпей же чаю." Wikipedia says it means, "eat more of these soft French loaves and drink tea."
If these guys only know Russian/French, how would they even be able to read your post asking them to speak English?

Don't know about the others but I find this post is awfully close to racism. Sure some people will speak a language that's not yours and it can be annoying, sure they could have gone in their specific channel except this takes more time for just a few sentences exchange and that exchange had something to do with local where all the parties were connected AND watching. You going to their board and speaking english would be whereas them speaking in local is just getting the message across the most effective way, sure they broke a rule but it's not as if they brought you personal harm or distress. I've played on majorly german and french servers and the funny thing is that the english speaking people there ALWAYS spoke in english disregarding the rules so am I to draw the conclusion that all english speakers break rules as well, but that would make me sound a bit silly and racist wouldn't I?
Now that reaction points me to say that you probably only speak one language but that would only be based on the fact that I often find people *****ing about language to be the ones who know only one and never bothered trying to master another.
and sorry for the english as you probably gathered by now it's not my main language (and neither is Russian)

Funny enough, it mostly about whether or not you can speak native language in local ...after few "shut ups" to some guy

Regarding this rules are as follows: on sisi "only english in local", on TQ "anything goes, unless channel MOTD states otherwise" (in which case it's up to channel moderators anyway, I supppose).
As for requency of russian speakers in pblic (FYI: "public" is not "english") channels (on TQ): I hardly see that more often than french/german/italian... and I play mostly during russian prime time.
Oh, and by all means, you're wellcome to troll russian channel, it's a place of trolling afterall... somehting like CAOD, only subjects are usually closer to RL. Just so you know: most folks there know enough to say at least "**** you" and when you're not amusing anymore you'll simply join recuiters in block. |

Sorry to have to tell you this but I'm french, most of my family is French and my real name is pronounced in French. I was stating a fact from what I have observed from playing this game. It has mostly been Russians that do it. I know it and hundreds of others know it. Cause I read about it and see it all the time and when they are politely asked to speak english they just say F U and other stuff. Now not every single Russian is like that. But as I said in most cases it is. It's sad when people have to throw that damn racist word into public facts. But what I have stated is true and I have seen it annoy many people besides myself. So you can say I'm a racist but sorry I'm not.

Fail.
(but I agree on the actual point that you were trying to make) á How many humans will CONCORD allow Master Kuvakei and his True Slaves to abduct? How many is too many? Too many have already been lost! 20M citizens on countless planets! |

not exactly, actual translation should be without "to" (if you do it from russian to english)...

It's not in EULA, it's in rule #10 - only applys to sisi, ofc. While I can undrstand it, it's a bit stupid in itself and, AFAIK, not enforced unless you're literraly spamming (in which case you might be in trouble even when using english). |

Well anyways I did apologize if I did offend anyone. Agree with me or don't, but I said it was rude and can be very irritating. And I know for a fact I am not the only one who is. So you can hate me or put me on ignore, but I am not just stating an opinion and trying to make some language war. And another true fact. Russian women are hot!
