On my friends account i have a megathron.
His skills are electronics 5 and weapon upgrades 4.
At the moment he can fit:
7 electron blaster cannon II
Quad lif Named Injector Named Web Named Scrambler
Large named rep Med rep II named therm hardener normal kinetic hardener named cap relay 2 mag field stab II's
He can just about fit this. Any suggestions as to what i can alter to get the maximum out of this ship.
I was thinking of getting a named kin hardener, then just fitting a rocket launcher, but im up for anything, please.
Thanks

Edited by: Neon Genesis on 09/01/2005 10:26:11 Thats not a bad setup, but the cap relay is useless as u arnt using the passive cap recharge.
Meds and high's are fine
I fit in lows, 3 mag stab's, 3 hardeners and a large armour rep. However I think u need named gear to fit this or u will be short of cpu. The electron 2's eat alot of cpu

try fitting ion¦s II for a pvp setup Who needs a shovel when you have a nice big cannon?

Edited by: Lefevre on 09/01/2005 11:35:23 That setup is very much like mine Bobbeh.
The megathron is really not very good for tech II blasters (I haven't tested tech II railgun setups yet)
Unless you go with electrons blasters cannons II's you just can't make a decent setup. The only working ion blaster cannon II setup I have found so far is a gank setup which is not viable for normal pvp.
IMHO megathron could do with a bit of cpu balancing either on the ship or the blasters. I only imagine that tech II ion's would be of use if you get faction loot to save cpu.

Train weapon upgrades 5 and it'll be much easier for you to get a decent setup. It's a must-have for your ship.

I would save just under 9 cpu but perhaps.
I just thought that it would make more sense to actually fit a Co processor instead of the relay, and fit something like a smartbomb. Anyway, more suggestions are welcome.

Gallente Ships are pretty much gimped on the CPU side
neither Brutix or Megahtron have the CPU to fit a decent ammount of guns while having a bit tanking
you would have to use a full named fitting to get decent results
sadly tech2 blasters are nearly useless this way Wanna fly with me?

Weapon upgrades 5 and a full named setup + 7t2 ions will let you exchange your cap relay for a explosive hardner Bobbeh.. definently worth training

bad'boy, it used to vbe the case that no-one seemed to use Exp missiles, no-other weapon has a large amount of Explosive damage so i didnt used to fit one.
Poster below him. I use tech II electrons with weapon upgrades 4. I could save 8.8 cpu by training it to lvl 5 which i wouldnt save using ions surely, everything in that setup is named bar 1 hardener and i dont have enough cpu for the other. Edited by: Bobbeh on 09/01/2005 18:34:29 and now im annoyed, coz i sold all his named stuff.
His setup before was 2 modal mega neut, 1 anode mega neut, 1 modal mega elec, 2 standard ions, modal medium neut, rocket launcher and the rest of the setup is the same. After much deliberation i have fitted the ship with Tech 1 named. I have had to upgrade a litte bit but i have ended up with the following (once i get the modal mega elecs)
7x modal mega electron (6 to go, some fgt got the cheap 4 on market before i could) 1x Large Vehemence Smartbomb
1x F-rx Heavy Cap Injector 1x Quad lif BS MWD 1x Faint Epsilon Warp Prohibitor 1x X5 Webifier
1x Large Automated Carapace armor rep 1x Med Tech II Armour repairer 1x radioisotopic Kin hardener 1x radioisotopic Thermic Hardener 1x Voltaic EXP Hardener 2x Mag Field Stab II
686.2/687.5 CPU 15,182/19375 Grid
So, with a fully named setup on a megathron using the least CPU intensive/ least damaging Large blaster i have only managed to use around 80% of the grid, that is sad.
Anyway, im still after more suggestions. especially with tech II stuff as i have to use it. Mimiru > It'd be a tie, the monkies nerfed pooflinger wouldnt have enough tracking to hit the parrot orbiting him, but the parrot's beak is so small it couldnt break the monkey's fur tanking. |

Still, the guns do 360 dps against unhardened shields/armor.

Well if you want damage go for ions and if you want to utilize your powergrid more grab another large armor rep or replace the smartbomb with a heavy nos.
Anyway it is possible to fit the following:
7 t2 electrons 1 quad lif mwd 1 fleeting propulsion web 1 j5 warp inhibator 1 electhromechanical heavy cap injector
1 large acco 1 med tech II armor rep 3 n-type active hardners (explosive, thermal, kin) 2 mag field stab II.
My raw DPS with this is about 550. I could save a bit more cpu by changing some modules.
Edit: This setup probably cost around 50million isk in total.

Edited by: BlackKnight on 09/01/2005 20:33:41 Edited by: BlackKnight on 09/01/2005 20:33:00 i get 7 named ions, MWD, webber, cap booster, tech 2 cap charger, 1 L accom. armor rep. 2x hardeners (or 2x tech 2 energized membranes) and 4x tech 2 damage mods (magnetic field stabs.) Great for rat hunting and PvP. For PvP u can take out the cap charger and put a srambler there if needed. Servent of The Scordite Gods |

Perhaps i will use this at a later date, getting hold of the n-type hardeners cold be difficult.
Anyway, once i have weapon upgrades 5 i think this could fit:
7 modal mega elecs 1 vehemence
mid slots the same
1 large named rep named thermic hardener named exp hardener 1 1600mm tungsten 3 tech II dmg mod
I understand that it doesnt have so much defence but i still think it is decent and one of the only situations i could understand fitting a plate. A plate on a blasterthron is a bad idea. The loss of speed will hurt you more then you'd think. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

perhaps pandora, maybe 15m/s = 90m/s at full mwd speed.
Anyway, i cant fit that at the moment, question is whether to drop kinetic hardener and fit another dmg mod. Oh well, gotta actaully use the current setup in combat first. Edited by: hooj on 10/01/2005 11:33:33 Edited by: hooj on 10/01/2005 11:21:42 you could consider a medium smartbomb II instead of the vehemince - save 14 cpu, 800 pg, 125 activation and still kills torps/cruise.
edit: also I wouldn't bother with the med tech2 rep personally, i just think they get sucked dry of cap so fast anything more than 1 L rep is cap kill. I'd swap it with a hardner/1600 plate/damage mod/warp stab - depending on your style.
all imho
