HI WTF IS WITH THIS SHIP BEING SO SLOW.
sORRY Caps,
I fitted my bottoms with a damage controll and a bulkhead thing so I have anti suicide tank but its so damn slow at aligning it makes me anxious moving stuff in it.
NOW HOW DO i fit it to move nice and faster I dont need cargo fittings like all the noobs fit thanks. Inappropriate signature removed. Zymurgist |

The ship is meant to be slow. It is a Capital Industrial ship, not an Interceptor. You should already have Spaceship Command V trained, make sure you have Evasive Maneuvering V too. Otherwise, use a different ship because this one isn't going to get much faster.
Maybe if you look closely at the Astronautic Rigs you'll see something useful.

Multi-step plan for improved Orca alignment:
1) Fit a Large Ancillary Current Router I rig to the ship. 2) Fit a 100MN microwarp drive to the ship. 3) Either align to or start your warp. 4) Turn the MWD on. 5) Immediately turn the MWD back off. 6) Wait 10 seconds. When the MWD pulse ends the Orca will enter warp. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

While the Reinforced Bulkheads may add on extra EHP it also makes your ship slow[er]... that's the trade-off.
If you want to move a bit faster then you could remove the bulkhead and throw on a Nano-fiber or an Inertial Stab. Both will increase agility allowing you to align and get to speed quicker. Now personally, I'd go with the latter (Inertial Stabs) as it doesn't cut into your structure (and thus, your "tank") the way the Nano-fibers do. It will increase your sig radius a bit... though, since Orcas are shield tankers (and thus have a large sig radius to begin with) this can generally be overlooked.
TBH, even with the bulkheads Orcas are "faster" than freighters... so don't complain TOO MUCH. And if you are ferrying valuable cargo, throw it (or as much as you can) into your Corporate Hanger Array or Ship Maintenance Array... scanners cannot see what's in those sections.

^This (though I use cargo rigs). Goes into warp amazingly fast (for an Orca).
If I am really concerned, Inertial Stabs and Warp Core Stabs in the lows.

Go back to elementary school.

The lost in eve podcast had a losec episode; the indy guy on it said he felt his key for orca use was a very specific several billion in implants but I can't recall specifics.

This is for getting the Orca up to warp speed while cloaked, and is way overkill for highsec.
An Orca with a Damage Control and Reactor Control in the lows is going to have freighter level EHP, while being capable of fitting a 100MN MWD for fast warp (one cycle to warp speed when starting from a standstill, more if you are already in motion). Reinforced Bulkheads are just gravy, and far from necessary to avoid being suicided. |
