Some of you might remember me from back in the day- I was here from just after release until about a year and a half ago when I went back into the military.
Ended up in the mountains of Afghanistan killing bad guys.
I had two questions-
First, I can't load anything up onto these government computers so playing Eve is out. I've thought about loading it onto a thumb drive but we're limited to a half hour at a stretch, and I don't know if these things even have any sort of real graphics card in them. That being said, is there a way yet to change skills out of game?
Second, About two or three years ago I wrote some fan fiction, I'm working on a BA in English over here and my Major is Creative Writing and Journalism. That being said, I was thinking about finishing "Relics of the Past", but if there's no interest I'll just work on something else.
Anyhow, I've honestly missed the game. I've tried to follow what's been going on, but it's just not the same as logging in and playing.

Well, of course the west is the good guys; only 300 times more people have died in Afghanistan and Iraq than in the 9/11 attack.

Because they are. Please do not question them.
But to answer the OP's first question: yes, have a friend log in and change them.

It depends, if the alternative is walking into a crowded shopping area and blowing up as many innocent civialians as you can then yes, the West are the good guys.

Removed political and off topic conversations. Please remain on topic.
Oh and having your friend log in and change your skills is account sharing Please don't do that. Your best bet is to try and get the client to run off a USB key.

Advising people to prefer tampering with military equipment (loading stuff from/to thumbdrives without explicit authorization will likely make his J-2/J-6 guys go pretty mad in case they find out) instead of violating the EVE ToS makes me think you got your priorities slightly wrong...
edit: I realize you cannot advise the OP to violate the ToS but you don't have to make a recommendation on any other options either.

I think it's going to be interesting when I get back and log in, and I have 1-2 billion isk worth of stuff in some station in the North. I wonder who is going to own that station. :)
Anyhow, cool to see you guys again. I don't know about how easy it would be to run Eve on a thumb drive, because every time there is an update I would have to get a new thumb drive with Eve on it mailed to me.
I just have 5 months left to go anyhow, but I hate to miss out on two years training.

Edited by: Ay Liz on 14/11/2010 09:32:07 You could use a friends computer through some kind of VNC. For example UltraVNC or similar stuff. You just have to get that running on those machines, connect to your friends PC whos running UVNC Server and voila.
Works like this: You connect and the software streams the other PCs desktop to you like a livecam. In an interactive way.
The visuals won't update fast enough to actually play the game but you can change skills just fine.
Another Software called teamviewer.com also has a webinterface kind of thing where you can just fiddle on your friends PC over your browser. Didn't test it though.
This shouldn't fall under account sharing.
