I may have missed something, but where can we buy these? Any internet shops or just store fronts.
UK player btw, Amazon perhaps? .

Originally by: Milo Caman No, No and No. Serious Dislike. If I lost my +3 set at 4 days and petitioned it, would I get it back? This is a step in the wrong direction.
The point of it is that this is intended for brand new players (not characters), who won't grasp the concept of +3's within 30 days, let alone 4.

I actually oredered this box from the US; and had it shipped to my house in Canada. Despite being a North American retail release; I'd be surprised if any Merchants in Westrern Canada received it. I know I went around to all the local stores, and checked online, at the release date; and found no copies in existence. One specific reseller, indicated they had not heard of it; and were not aware of it being shipped to retail in Canada. That was EB Games.. I actually puirchesed it from their American supplier.
Not receiving North American retail products in Canada; is actually quite common, and I've gotten used to it. Despite that, I paid the cross border shipping and duty, and received the box in a day and a half; actual shipping taking less than 24 hours. I tend to buy a lot of products in the US; and that is about the fastest I've received anything.
Awesome! The Cerebral Accelerator is cool; and it does help training speeds early on. I finished Learning IV, Analytical Mind IV, Logic IV; and Instant Recall IV, Eidetic Memory IV, and Cybernetics V; within the 1.6 million SP, and in about a weeks time. Got a jump clone, and planted my +5's; then continued with training Learning to V. Just finished my 1.6 million SP today, (filling it with itty-bitty-skill trainer's); and I've still got another 22 days left on my Booster. So, all that in just shy of 2 weeks; and I'm currently training at 2700 SP/hour
If that doesn't rock; I don't know what does!
I still think the contract price of these things is rediculous, (P.S: Interbus shuttle is selling in contract right now; and is going for 190-200 million isk. I even saw one up for 249 million; which is extremely overpriced), at 1.4 billion ISK on average; and I'm not certain they can even benefit a player with an account older than 30 days. The box and other sources; indicate that they do not. So buying one to use on an older account; would bve completely without purpose.
I've trained a few character's, since I started playing EVE; and I even bought the Special Edition box set, with the Interbus shuttle. So, I bought this one too; and I think I'm a little addicted. Now, you tell me that next summer, we'll se not one; but two, limited Edition, and Collector box sets. Guess I'll have to buy both of those too I love toys!

Next years collectors edition should contain a small Shuttle from one of the 4 empires. I'd buy that..
Amarr Edition = Amarr shuttle Caldari Edition = Cal shuttle and so on...
Memories of the Fallout 3 Bobble head.. He still sits on sits on my Antec case centered above the 200mm fan. Need another model for the 2nd tower.

Why are you changing the risk-reward mechanic for the booster?
If you don't replace it, then the new players can learn the true nature of eve which is that losses are permanent and you should have strategies to reduce their impact.

The changes to Risk/Reward for the booster is easily explained; the booster is handed out by Concord to newly commisioned pilots, as indicated in the introduction of it. Concord simply supplies the new pilot with a new booster; to replace the one he/she has lost. I do see a possible issue with petitioning replacement; in that, the GM will have to verify the booster was lost, and not sold.
Aside from that; it is good. I have not been podded, yet myself; and have more to lose if I do. Truly, the boosters value has nearly capped out for me; and I would see little effect in losing it. Particularly, in another few days; as I will have both my Intelligence and Memory base skills, to V.
Don't mind my litany in the post above; I was just having a bit of fun. And when I mentioned plastic; I was referring to a memory of another collector's box. Where I got most of my references actually; from various other collectors editions I've sen. Never bought any before; but, I remeber seeing one particualarly hideous black molded plastic box... terrible way to present a collectable box set.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll like whatever CCP has to offer; and appreciate more the contents, than the box itself. Hate to actually know whats in it months in advance; and like less, the idea, of actually influencing the final product. That's worse than foreknowledge; and I prefer some semblance of surprise.
Cheers,

This is not a North American release. It is only available in the US, and not in Canada. You can not buy it in a store in Canada. You can only pay overpriced, slow, risky crossborder shipping fees if you order it from the US. Thanks alot CCP. I am responsible for 7+ paid accounts over at least 5 different players, and if this release really was North American, would of helped me sell the game to at least a dozen more people. Why do you hate Canada? :)

I had to chuckle at this. Perfectly within the rules though if the GM gives you the cerebral accelerator item and does not just re-apply the affect to you. I'm not honestly sure how they are doing it. I should go ask.
Note that you have to learn how to sell via contract system if you wish to sell it on day 29.

It is on their "to do list" for Namco Bandai Partners to give us a list of retailers who will be carrying it. I know that Amazon.de will carry the German version. I'm pretty sure that Amazon.co.uk will be offering the product. We have a retailers page that we will update as we know more. EVE Retailers

i dont know. reading the post as well as the comments, i cant help but wonder, why you guys dont get rid of the learning skills!
learning to learn... just doesn't seem sound...
i know older chars will (usually) complain. but what is important to get the young ones to the front asap... new unexperienced victimes would make em happyer then the usually lamenting they seem to pour over this issue comming up again and again...
so instead of setting up special editions, make this game easier to access - meaning:
1. removal of learning skills 2. more intuitive ui

Learning that asset loss is usually permanent is also a fairly important thing to grasp. ---

Hmm what I can see that will happen is that people who are 29 days old will have themselves killed, then petition the GMs to have their special implant reimbursed. Once they will have it back they will probably sell it via contract to another player who wants some accelerated training in starting an alt-character.
I am fairly certain these reimbursement request will be a bad precedent and put a lot of additional load on the petition queue.

If I am understanding this correctly, I could buy a cd key every month, trade the booster to my main and get an attributes buff all year.... Is it me, or does this have the stank of microtransactions? For some reason I thought the player base and csm's were against this.

seems like u got it wrong...
only works for the first 30 days...
Quote: (eve-site) "This edition has been specifically designed to help a new player get up-to-speed. The exclusive in-game item this time is a booster called the Cerebral Accelerator. It boosts a number of player stats in a very meaningful way, but only temporarily. The Cerebral Accelerator checks the age of your character, counted from character creation date. It is designed to boost your first 30 days in EVE Online. If your character is 14 days old when you use the Cerebral Accelerator, you will only get 16 more days of boost."

Weaksauce logic.
Wouldn't losing your implants in the harshness of Eve be better introduction to the game rather than a petition with the expectation your stuff will be returned?

I got my Box today from EBgames it was the only copy they had in stock. I felt Lucky, but it seems there is an internal error when I try to register my trial. SO should I forget the trial and create a brand spanking new account?

I would have thought the easiest way is just make it so you can not sell it and have it not get consumed when you claim it. You have unlimited claims on it for 30 days then its gone.

Why not just cut the bull, I for one wont be paying for a game i already own, wether its gold plated and sings you to sleep. As for removing the learning skills and introducing this implant why not just remove the 1 tritanium you get in the reaper and replace it with said item and make it cost a pittance its not like you can do owt with it after 35days anyways and who wants to go back there? Trying to swindle more cash from folks when ur already one of the most expensive MMORG on the market is just pure greed tbh and any person who buys something they already own is prob the same people getting swindled with navy ravens (ravens) in jita I LOL's @ U

I know some people in CCP are just chomping at the bit to get micro-transactions into the game. At staff meetings they say, "Look! Everybody is doing it!"
So how long until I buy the boxed game and get to add some cool camouflage to my ship? (or buy it via some micro-transaction store)
It's coming... you know it's coming.
