I'm tired of being harassed to update eve with all these optional updates and non optional updates. None seem to really do much, so can't they wait till they have a decent amount of fixes before releasing another patch?
I don't see how rushing patch after patch and having to release patches that fix patches ect is very professional.
You want to know how firefox failed? They had updates every week until many of their users got tired of it and switched to other browsers like chrome. They no longer do that anymore though, and for good reason.

Actually (on the off chance that you're serious, and not another dumbass troll) there is an argument in development methodology between releasing one monstrous patch versus lots of little ones. On the one hand, you only inconvenience your users very occasionally, but you have far more code to test and more chance for additional bugs to slip through.
On the other hand, you inconvenience your customers more frequently, but you have less code to test each time, so the chances of it being more stable and thoroughly tested are fairly good.
All that aside, you do realize that for the price of one button click, you can skip the optional patches, right? Just say "No" when it asks if you want to install it. --Vel

Firefox reached it's optimum level of bloat and didn't need any more incremental patches.
You need to realise these CONSTANT updates are optional and you can click no.
But then again this is just a shi+ troll.

I did that once because I just wanted to get in game to change a skill and it said current build is blah blah must uninstall all optional patches client needs to restart. I FFFFFFFUUUUUUU'd and restarted the client and installed the patches then went in game.
it was especially annoying having a separate cache for each account

I can confirm that. If you say no to one optional patch, it just removes all of them. But at least it won't bother you again afterwards.
P.S. that doesn't mean I agree with the OP. I think it's a minor inconvenience at best, but OP is right about the uninstallation issue. - Don't let the trolls stop you from giving a helpful reply. :) |

Confirming the patches are not 'optional' and getting rather annoying. Try to keep patches to once a month unless something devastating please.

I think these smaller patches are the way to go for fixes.
Do you really want to wait until the next expansion to get those annoying little quirks patched?
Expansions should contain new content and re-balancing stuff. All other fixes should be in these mini-patches as and when they are complete.
