IÆm sure IÆm the 1,000,000th capsuleer to gripe about this, but I would be remiss if I did not. Ninja Salvagersà. Really? Ok, do they have to have EVERY advantage? Here I am in a battleship and captain ninja is wizzing around in a frig. There is NO WAY to counter that. Plus, if I warp out so as not to feed him more free salvage, it take several minutes to get back to where I was in the mission. Takes him seconds. I get that eve is hardcore mode all the time and that screwing over your fellows is encouraged but can we at least make it cost more than a couple million sp and a 500k frig to make actually DOING level4s obsolete? My answer to this? 1.Cause ninja salvaging to call in concord for insta-pop. (not likely but worth a shot) 2.Make it a little harder or take a little longer to find other peopleÆs deadspace. Maybe give us an hour before we can be spotted by a probe. 3.Give us a 5 min countdown to get our stuff before the scavengers can grab it all. Seems only fair to give us a CHANCE to get some of our wrecks. 4.Give us kill rights to any non-fleet ship in our deadspace (again unlikely but worth a shot) or a countdown killright to anyone who salvages a wreck owned by someone else. 5.If nothing else, have ship loot from kills in a can OUTSIDE the wreck so at least we can pop our own without losing even more to the thieves. To sum up: a)ninja salvagers are a pretty lame development in eve b)would be really nice if the playing field was evened out, better if the advantage was to the one who killed the ships. c)Sad panda And FYI: yes I realize someone wrote somewhere ôworking as intended,ö this is about changing the intensions a bit. I also realize that if I donÆt like it I can quit eve so no need to point that out, and I get it that itÆs currently ôthe way it isö but again, would really like things to be different. Also, yes I have a marauder and no, any ninja can still snake my wrecks. Think that covers it all. Thanks for reading.

Edited by: BeanBagKing on 17/11/2010 04:58:02 You bring new and interesting points to the table sir. I have never seen your suggested remedies for this problem. I think you should forward them to CSM immediately so they can petition CCP on your behalf.
Also, wrong forum, but I'll forgive that digression only because of your well thought out ideas.

They don't have any advantage you don't have. In my opinion, if you get the benefits of 1-5 then so should the ninja salvagers.

I'm bored so I'll bite. Why would CCP change something they love about the game?

0/10, but as we haven't had one of these for a while:
Everything is working as intended.
You have plenty of solutions: - Cry more - No, really. - Move out of a mission hub? - You have a nice T2 pinata. What were you going to spend that terrifying few hundred thousand they gained on anyway? - Mission in lowsec, then you can shoot with impunity. - HTMFU.
Oh, and just to cover all bases, if it enrages you so much that you quit, can I have your stuff? If not, I'll just scan you down and take it anyway.

(1) Salvage is trash in space, it belongs to no one.
(2) You have an unfair advantage over ninja salvagers. You can use a tractor beam. If you don't have a tractor beam and a salvager that's your own damned fault for failing at missioning. ---

1. Wow- figured my disclaimers at the end would ward off any trolls but lo and behold! Really? I can cry MORE?? 2. What is 1-5? 3. Yeah I get it, this has been said before BUT I am a returning eve player and since I was not privy to them and the points made therein I feel justified in adding my own thoughts to the "discussion." 4. Are you sure? I can seriously cry MORE? 5. Besides ending up fodder for das trolls, why not express my thoughs as to the shortcommings of this crazy game we all love? The hope is to make it better (more enjoyable for ME primarily) 6. OK... so what you're saying is that even though I am currently crying quite hard, I can infact cry even more than this? 7. It seems to me the only way to encourage the chance I want to see is to talk about it and hopefully get a positive responce. 8. Yadda yadda barely funny cry more reference. 9. 0/10? That a troll score? No troll worth it's weakness to fire would fill a troll post with so many gramatical errors. That alone should prove I'm on the up and up... 10. Aww crap, reviewing this responce I see that THIS is kinda trolly. But the original post was purely from the heart.

Don't mess with the Ninjas.
Yes, it's a loser profession that is more of a waste of time than an ISK maker. Yes, it is also used as a tear jerker by certain griefer corps who have nothing better to do.
But TBO, it's a good way for new capsuleers to make a little scratch and learn some important game mechanics while doing it.
I see it as a good thing for the game and should definitely not be tampered with in any way, whatsoever.

I stopped reading there, don't know why I bothered with this thread, oh yeah the title, there is only one 'final solution' and you haven't figured that out yet, keep trying.

Per CCP Mitnal: Originally by: CCP Mitnal "Our policy on this is extremely clear... Salvaging is a mini-profession within EVE and does not constitute stealing."
Per GM Faolchu : Originally by: GM Faolchu Salvaging other peoples wrecks.... This is an intended game mechanic and is in no way an exploit. People salvaging your missions npcs or the player you just blew up are doing nothing wrong. The players are salvaging what is effectively floating rubbish in space and Concord places no value on this wreckage. Eve is a harsh place you won't always have everything go your way, its a do or die world and people do what they can to get along. If salvaging some wreckage gets them a few more ISK someone will do it, it doesn't matter who just blew it up.
Per Senior GM Ytterbium : Originally by: GM Ytterbium Players are still completely free to salvage other pilot wrecks at will ... and doing so is not considered as an exploit.
Per CCP Prism X : Originally by: CCP Prism X Why is stealing salvage OK? It's not. It shouldn't even be possible to move an item from your cargo-hold / hanger to another persons cargo-hold / hanger without opening a trade window. Before the salvage enters those containers it is not considered your stuff by the server code. Hence it's not stealing.
Per CCP Incognito : Originally by: CCP Incognito Had a chat with some designers this evening. Ninja salvaging is intended game play. It was always intended that the wrecks are public, the loot is private. They do not see it as a problem if others salvage your wrecks.
