Not a troll, i am too tired for that... just had an idea for a T3 miner, it's main function would simply to use a tractor beam to pull roids closer so they can be mined.

offensive 5% to gas cloud harvesting amount per level 20% to mining amount per level 5% reduction in cap use of miners per level +5 highslots
defensive med slots + 5 15% reduction in gas cloud damage per level
electronics + 20% to survey scanner range per level + 1 med + 1 low
engineering + 20% to cargo amount per level + 2 lows
propulsion -7.5% speed penalty of cargo expanders per level + 2 lows (base speed 165ms)
base hold = 1000m3 drone bay = 0m3 This would be a "multiracial" subsystems system. so maybe designed by ore to be fitted on any race t3 and give it a ore look.

But i still stand by my idea: a T3 mining ship that does little more than pull asteroids in closer to be mined. Cause having a Veldspar roid 700km from the warp in point is pretty pointless

aaaaaand people see this as a lol post why? The only problem I see is that a t3 miner ould be off-the-charts yield. Hulks mine enough as s but a t3 miner woulde either have to mine insane ammounts, have a vastly reduced cycle bonus, or nerf the hulk and make the t3 slightly better than the 6000m3 per cycle hulk we know of now. As of now, when someone gets a hulk, that it, no more mining training, nothing to look forward to unlike training for combat ships. So yes, mining ships do need variables.

If you want a possibly un-probable, definitely covert ops cloaky, miner, the T3 sounds like the best bet.
Others suggest nerfing the Hulk. Not necessary. The goal of a T3 miner would be different. Efficient mercoxit extraction + stealth would be a winning combo for fun factor, more than for profit.
As for your original idea, I really don't see the need to pull rocks closer to the ship, when you can easily just fly to the rock ... I mean, do you think there is some optimal parking spot for your ship to avoid pirates/ratz such that you could pull rocks toward yourself ???
This is NOT JumpGate : you can shoot through the 'roids, but not fly through them. So if you surrounded yourself with rocks, you would pin yourself down and become a very dead target.
What was the point of this again ? I guess I'm just stupid.

Maybe make a T3 miner that can mine close to like a hulk, but from longer range and with more firepower/tank. (The longer range would let you move around your asteroid while fighting.) So the T3 miner would allow you to defend yourself better solo or just combine ratting with mining.
I don't know, trying to figure out something that wouldn't be more yield, because that would further lower prices and ultimately nerf miner incomes.

Call them Bulks!
With T3 strips. Then you need a battleship crystal, frigate crystal.. Titan crystals..
Picture it.. fleets of rampaging Bulks.. sucking the minerals out of entire armies of 0.0 fleets. Leaving paper thin shells of simulated leather upholstery and pod pilots frantically trying to seal the leaks in their pods with chewing gum..
Can you see it? huh?

A T3 miner should be designed for low sec mining. Any ideas? I go first, larger drone bay, like a domi. more low slots and larger cap?
