Edited by: Obsession Paranoia on 17/11/2010 17:40:12 First off, do the rewards increase much from level 1 kill missions to level 2? Saving 25million for those advanced learning skillbooks going at 100k a mission is... ridiculous. I am not far off some low quality level 2 missions soon, and kinda hoping the rewards take a juump too.
Also, tell me, do the gains also increase as you go up?
Gaining 0.0xxx% for a mission is kinda... stupid. To get from these level 1 missions to level 4 is going to be the worst grind I've ever seen.

Yes level 2 missions generally pay better. The reward is a function of the level and quality of the agent so upgrade your agent with that corp when you can. By the time you're doing lvl 4s you'll be pulling in millions. The standing gains will be better too.

Yes, it all increase as the mission levels go up.
Lvl 4's will get you 20-50 mil an hour solo, lvl 5's will get you 100 mil and hour solo, sometimes more with faction drops.
Train up your social skills to increase rewards and standings.
Stick to combat agents intel, security, command etc.
And most importantly find a good Corp!
Use these guides:

Agents

Edit: For 30-50 mil you can buy tags and turn them into certain agents and buy yourself the faction standings needed to run lvl 3/4's in a few hours.

I agree, it's absolutely stupid. That's why I don't do it. There's faster ways to get standings.
The trick is to use storyline agents.
Every 16 normal missions for a particular faction, you'll get a storyline mission. This will be offered by the closest storyline agent to where you last ran your regular mission.
Completing that mission will net you a small increase in faction standings and a MASSIVE boost to corp the storyline agent belongs to.
The trick is to find a storyline agent for your target corp, and run missions for that faction as close as possible to him. You can search for them here
Using this method, I went from 0 to 8 standings in about two days, you could do it in less if you really tried.
and further more why do i even need a sig? |

So, in a way to understand, run missions for a faction where the storyline agent belongs to a corp you want to increase?

Yep. Though if possible run missions for the target corp. those 0.00xx% add up, especially for level 4s So for example if you want to increase standings for Caldari Navy, Find a station with a Caldari Navy story line agent, and run level 1 missions for the Caldari Navy in the same system

Been doing that with Sisters of Eve in Rens. Then I realised their level 2 agents have very few kill missions. Gonna swap over to Brutor Tribe I think, but its at 0.15 right now, so to get to level 2 missions is easily 150+ missions.
Been doing the whole 16 normals > 1 storyline, but it's still extremely slow, which makes me think I'm doing something wrong.

If you can't do level 2 missions (admittedly crappy ones, but level 2) right away, you need to train more social skills. Having 0.15 standings to anyone tells me you don't have those at all. ___________

The only two that seemed useful were "Social" and "Connections".
Am I missing some?

Helpful Skills.
If you want a leg up and get some fast corp standing increases you can run along with players running L4s and share in their standing gains. You could for example offer to salvage their wrecks. Many will let you tag along for fun. Not that you can't gain faction standings this way as storyline missions can't be shared.
Think it like this : L4 rewards = 10 * L3 rewards = 100 * L2 rewards = 1000 * L1 rewards Of course, if you're not ready for L2s or higher you can get butchered. ----- Amicus Morte is recruiting. Dive into the world of 0.0 !

Well, "Negotiations", but the effect is minimal (all it does is raise the EQ of an agent's Q by 5 per level). However, with just +0.01 base standing and Connections L5, you get an effective standing of +2.01, which enables you access to all agents up to L2 Q0... and you can get up to +2.5 base FACTION standings just from all the sets in the tutorial and career funnel missions, which can mean (with Connections L4, so only +16% effective standings) +3.7 effective standings, or access to all agents up to L3 Q-6 for the entire faction. _

Having high Faction standing allows access to high level agents in all member corporations in that Faction.
Social skills do help a lot. Negotiation, Social and Connections.
Besides doing the 16 regular missions to gain 1 storyline mission for Faction standing increase, the Event_Agents are a good way to quickly gain Faction standing.

Think I'll train Social and Connections right up first. Social only takes a day to do L1/2/3/4, then connections up to level 3 is only another 2 days. After that, think I'd be fine grinding the missions. Glad someone opened my eyes to the Social skills, or they'd have been ignored

You can complete all of those in the first week of a podpilot's life. And then, you can do the same for the "friendly" faction too (say you did all Caldari ones, now go do all the Amarr ones), to end up with somewhere around +4 base standings for TWO factions, or (with Connections L5) roughly +5.2 effective standings towards both factions (give or take), so access to all agents up to L4 Q-16. That's in the first week or two of character life, and with MINIMAL combat skills, since all the missions are trivial.
Just want to note here that all in this case refers to ALL 15 agents scattered across that factions 3 schools - not - just the 5 agents at one school.

Not just the 3x5=15 career funnel agents, but also the 3x5=15 tutorial agents giving you the trivial two-parter "Endless Battle", so 30 agents total per faction, 60 if you do two friendly factions. http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Tutorial_Agents _

Do the Sisters of Eve mission arc. The rewards are (IIRC) about 10x what level 1s give you, and I had 0ver 20mill in the bank when I was done with it, even having had a Soviet Russia experience in "Burning Down the Hive" (In Soviet Russia, the Hive burns you!)

A huge standing increase from storyline missions every 16th mission, eh?
Just did one of those. Got 0.01 faction increase, and 0.02 corp increase.
With that kinda speed, I would only need to do 800 missions to get anchor-rights?
\o/ for grindless games.
