I salute everyone who clicked my thread name in the index! You are all welcome and I hope you will find my little tool useful in your space endeavors.
It all began one day when, being deep in 0.0, I found out that I need a lot of stuff from Empire and I couldnÆt find a pen and paper to write stuff down. So an idea came up: why not make an online shopping-cart where you can add items from the market and then easily access them via In-Game Browser? Easy, especially because CCP brought up some nice tools for this... www.EvE-Cart.com
Ok, back to the website - at the moment it has basic functionalities: - Search for market items - Add to cart - Save cart as wishlist
IÆm thinking of adding the following: -Making wishlists public so you can show them to your friends -Shortlists for stuff like minerals and salvage with the ability to set prices and make calculations in order to find how much isk you will be receiving - Any other stuff that people will ask for...
This being said, I hope you will find the tool useful and it will make your life easier in space.
Thanks and fly safe, Brewdin www.EvE-Cart.com
PS: You need to register in order to use the website. Please use short login credentials as the IGB does not support cookies, so the ôremember meö function will not work.

Interesting, I really like the idea so far. I have the same problem a lot of times, usually I just use the in game notepad, but having auto completed search boxes and formatted lists makes it a lot nicer.
One thing I would suggest is you banner thing at the top, the two 5x3 rows of icons on the left and right. Just make them static images of some sort, maybe it's just me being picky but because they are randomly generated they have to reload every time you make an action. The first few times it's kinda neat, but after that it just slows the page down a bit and it's distracting. If this is the worst thing I find though, then you've done an excellent job.

Thank you for your input, it kind of opened my eyes up to see the fact that the header takes up quite alot of the page, considering the fact that the search results are usually not that many...
I will come up with 1-2-3 other versions of the header and i'll post them here for feedback from the users.
By the way, i think i didn't write about the most important features (in my oppinion): - if you click the icon for each items it openes up the info window for modules or the preview window for ships/arrays/etc - if you click the blue "i" button, it opens up the info window for that item - if you click the name of the item, it will open up the market details for it, making shopping sprees very easy and fast __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

This is a terrific app, and it has a lot of potential. One thing I would love to see (and I think a logical next step) is the ablity to paste a killmail or EFT fit and add the whole loadout to cart. With that simple feature I think it would bring a lot more attention.
BTW all those icons at the top take forever to load in the IGB :(

Thank you again for you very important feedback.
I have already started working on that import-from-eft script and on another header image (smaller, minimalistic style). These two changes should be up and running on monday the latest.
Btw, you can throw the link to the website to your friends/corp mates/alliance mates. I really hope it will be helpfull to people and i want to make it as good as possible. __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

Ok, this worked out easier than expected and i could finish the import script quite fast. As well as this, i have another header, much smaller and with space for future "facebook", "twitter", "set home page" and "bookmark" logos.
So you have updates on eve-cart.cod: - You can import EFT Fits in your cart, which you can then save as wishlists __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

Oh, that... that is nice... absolutely beautiful feature. I like the new banner too, but mainly the EFT thing.

New update:
You can now make wishlists public and show them to your friends. They don't need an account to view the items in the wishlist, but they will be restricted to the detailed view.
Coming soon - "add all to cart" function for each wishlist. __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

Thanks for the input.
I haven't had time to work on eve-cart during the last few days because i had alot of stuff to do at work, but i will get back on making other improvements as soon as the holidays are near. :)
I'd like at least one person who uses eve-cart on a regular basis come and say that so i will know the work has not been done in vain... :( I didn't realise how hard it will be to make the website popular, but i will work on that too. __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

Edited by: Dusty Meg on 25/11/2010 22:35:01 Ive got some of my wishlists saved in. It has helped so I dont need to have eft open on my second screen to see what I need. I do like the ease of simply clicking the name and the market screen opens. Ive also got my items that I normally buy for hauling on there too speeds up with that :)

Would you like some sort of "(premade) shortlist" with minerals and salvage? I could implement a price set up tool for those items in the shortlists and you could calculate how much will X units of tritanium would cost.
Also, would a "favourite items" section help? __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

Since the inclusion of the EFT feature I have been using it fairly regularly. I suppose this could be a bad thing for me, because it means I keep loosing the same ships over and over again. :(

I can't say I've been using it a lot, but that's only speaks to my play time in general, real life sucks. I've been watching this tool since I saw this post however and it's wonderful. I promise the work you've done has not been in vain, it will get it's use when I finally have time to get back into PvP.

Hi!
Very nice tool!
Pls add faction modules, or a warning when importing EFT fittings with faction modules, that it doesn't get on the list :-)
Also would be cool to have Jita prices on the list.
And the ability to assign the list to another user, sort of like wishlist, but that the other user is notified. Would be nice for my hauler friend who gets stuff into 0.0 for us :-)
Great tool so far, looking forward to see it develop!

Edited by: Bloemkoolsaus on 27/11/2010 19:56:24 This is very usefull. 2 things i'd love to see though:
1. In "My EvE-Cart" we have a button "Save as wishlist". If you could add a button (or change the button to) "Add to wishlist". This button would then add selected items in the cart to the selected wishlist, instead of just adding the entire cart into the wishlist.
2. In "My EvE-Cart", would it be possible for each item to show if that item has been added to a wishlist, and if so wich wishlist and with what quantity.
These additions would make this really usefull for me. I live in wormhole space, and exits to highsec are rare. My shopping list will grow over time, and usually my shopping list grows so large that I forget the reasons to why I wanted certain items. Adding items to categories (wishlists in this app) helps me remember. In "My EvE-Cart" I can see all items currently in my list(s) so that when I'm in jita, i don't have to open all the wishlists one by one. Perfect!

Thanks for the feedback and i really like the fact that users are starting to register on the website :) It's nice to know that your work is helping others, that was the whole point when i made this app public. :D
Ok, about your suggestions: - Unfortunately faction modules can't be bought off the market. That means that you won't be able to click their names and see the market details. If people want this, i might add another option in the user cp section that allows you to make the website show faction items as well. - Assigning wishlists to other players - this would need some sort of user interaction system (messages, contact lists etc). It's something awesome if you think it would help you and it will come, but until then you can work around this by making your wishlists public and giving the links to other people. They can save the URL and will always have access to the wishlists. - Jita prices would probably not be so hard to set up if i would know how to get prices from eve-centra, for example. I will study this problem and will will add them as soon as i learn how (i'm not the most proficient web programer, i earn my food by analyzing data from social studies :) - You can't add items to wishlists at this moment. I have tought of adding a "quick add item" to wishlist by using an auto-complete form and you will see that in the near future. Of course, I will look at Bloemkoolsaus's suggestions and see what can be implemented and how.
Unfortunately my time available for improvements on the website is very slim, but we will start next year with alot of new functionalities, including a better login/register/user cp system, as the current one is as basic as it gets. __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

I believe I read in a recent Devblog that they were going to allow faction ships on the market which I would guess also means the modules will be as well so you might want to look into that.
Quote: The Ships section of the market has been reorganized and is now primarily sorted by hull class. In addition, all faction and special release ships have been added to the market so you can now trade them there in addition to contracts.

Indeed, I know about that market modification, but i have to wait until CCP releases another static data dump (I don't think it's out yet, will check).
Modules still are not on the market, though :( __________ www.EvE-Cart.com - your online shopping cart tool for eve feedback

If you ever add some kind of preferances/settings, it would be nice to be able to sort our wishlists by something other than alphabetically, such as type (ships first, then weapons, then ammo, for example) or amount.
Also, I know you've heard it, but still looking forward to adding items to a wishlist
Keep up the good work, when you have time.

If you can add functionality of shared wtb list between corp members this would be hugely helpful tool for alliance logistics slaves. I would pay to be able to integrate such a thing into our own alliance web site (would need source).

Not sure if it is possible...
But when you make a wishlist, have an extra line saying the prices (in jita as example) so that you know how much you need to save up for.

Yes it is possibly using eve-central.com but some prices aren't always available for a particular system/region.
Check out http://www.eve-sl.com for shopping lists with prices and faction prices(soon to be added) where you also have the option to change region for prices check.

TIP: Because EVE's In Game Browser (IGB) does not support auto-complete, it would be easier for you to login if you use a short username/password.
Let the users be stupid on their own, no need to encourage them.
Being an Eve app it's actually nice if you can remove all user/pass based logins as these expose dumb users to risk and make smart users wary.
