What novel weapons systems from other spaceship games you've played might have some utility if translated into EVE Online?
What about the Ion Cannons from the X-Wing franchise? They did no direct damage, but disabled the electronics of enemy ships.
Another of my favourites was the Flail Cannon from Freespace, which used action-movie gun-fight-physics: you fire the Flail cannon at an enemy spaceship and that spaceship gets pushed away from you, while you keep current speed & heading.

The beam cannons from Freespace 2. Watching a gigantic laser punch through a ships armor and rip it in half never gets old. EVE lasers are just so boring by comparison.

The space battle in Serenity has a couple of nice things... EMP, harpoon, ramming (3:17). Always thought a bumpageddon has the right shape for this thing, looks like it could split a ship in half...

Considering the speed of light is 0.00200398707 AU/s. I think it would just break most physics models. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

yeah sure, its fairly simple
Kinetic energy=1/2*mass*velocity^2
mass of 1 construction block is unlisted, but we can estimate from its volume. Its volume is 1.5 meters squared. One cubic metre of concrete equals 2307.46 kg/m^3 or 5087.08 lb/m^3. so (2307.5*.5)+2307.5=3461.25 kg
now then, velocity, 149,598,000 kilometers is = 1 AU so 149,598,000*13.5 =2,019,573,000 kilometres in one second. To put that in comparison, the speed of light is only 29,979 kilometres per second.
So our formulae is thus: 1/2*3461.25kg*2,019,573,000,000m^2=7.058147264580335e+29 joules or 705,814,726,458,033,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules
now then, lets convert that to something useful; the megaton is a unit of energy equal to 4.184 petajoules. 1 petajoule = 1.0 * 10^15 joules
so 7.058147264580335e+29 * 10^-15 = 7.05814726*10^14 petajoules or 70,581,472,600,000,000,000,000 petajoules
so 7.05814726*10^14/4.184 =
16,869,376,800,000,000,000,000 megatons
That's half the energy contained in a supernova, and more then enough energy to turn an entire planet into relativistic shrapnel. Imagine what would happen if you just crashed your frig into something.

It's also wrong. Relativistic physics is a *****.
Really its KE = 1/2*mass* velocity^2 * (1 / sqrt(1- velocity^2/ (speed of light)^2))
Trouble is, plug in a figure faster then light and you'll have to take the square root of a negative number... this tends to be bad for physics. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

actually, we don't need to worry about that because of :magic: and warp drives and space being underwater.

Thats right but only if ct (KE) = ct(mass). Thats the defination of the momentum in spacetime.
