Not necessarily true. MB and Tachs should do more damage at the upper ranges of Mega Pulse cause they can use shorter range crystals at longer ranges than MP.
Wouldn't it be nice if we actually had the choice to go long range and use the MB/Tach? At 60+ km etc?

Edited by: Gian Bal on 26/01/2005 01:01:40 i think personally the megapulses are the real indicator for thoose major hp nerf7balance/unbalance. the point is not that they deal too much dmg, the point is they deal it in every range they want to up to 60. it all comes together at one point: eve is mismatched again. we had this situation often, but not so often it was that clear. and i think personally that the best solution would be a look at the guns. proj. a bit more, pulses a bit less or in closer range, and lesser cap for hybrid. i even go that far and say it would solve nearly all major problems we have to deal with atm ( my ship dies too often..., my ship doesn't deal dmg..., etc.. ). i was in 0.0 with an alt (0 learned skillpoints) and reaching a station. an armageddon attacked me. that my noobship in transversal explodes in not more than 2 shoots is ok, that my egg in transversal at 160 or what it can with 0 sp explodes in just 1 single shoot out of 1 single barrel is not ok. i think the tracking of megapulses and the tracking of other guns are completly different. i tested it on sisi with tracking increase : a tempest holding 4 activated tII tracking comps using 800mm tI is not really able to hit a giant cont at 0m, and if only with sqeezy dmg. an apoc without tracking enhancer and pulse lasers will hit like 90% of all ( both stood still!!!). the tracking of my 800's was far higher than the lasers one. i think they are not too powerful, they are bugged!!!

She's right. Fix the damage missiles do to small targets and then fix the megapulse and the game would be better off.
They day ravens have the equip assult launchers for anti frig work will be on of the best days in eve.
The second best day will be when megapulse stop being the best gun here, by a long margin.

Whats going to happen to all the people who invested literally 2 - 3 months of training time to get MEga Pulse IIs when it gets nerfed back to uselessness?
I think the best response would be a minor increase in fitting requirements(15%), and a minor decrease in tracking (10%-15%)

They can switch to tech.2 beam lasers in less than a week, since the primary requirements are shared..? (~2 days for small beams, 5 days for medium beams and that's without implants or advanced learning skills)

14 days to get the primary gun skill from lvl4 required for medium beam specialization to lvl5 Then if you havent touched the beam path at all you need to get small beam and medium beam to lvl4 as well, not quite a week by a long shot

Er, so you openly support it's nerfing into uselessness? Why should i even bother training for beams when down the road they might be nerfed by the whiners as well? When does the nerf cycle end??

Lallante, first thy will get a balanced game, and second the range is the problem
Sadly making this Graf is lot of work
but when its ready you will see that stupid gun outdamages everything else from 5km to 75km easily

Yeah, WTF? CCP should know that balancing the guns would be wrong, who wants to have to make a choice between pulse and beam specs? The way it is now is perfect. No thought has to go into it, just get mega pulse II and thats all you need.
BTW, blasters need a big boost. I think its unfair that I have to train railgun spec to use 425 IIs, thats so many skillpoints, it hurts. Sharpshooter 5 would take me like, forever, OMG! Blasters need a 28k base range so that I dont have to train large rail spec. Its so unfair to make me train 2!!!!! specilization paths if I want to use guns that work at two completely different ranges.

Uhmm but if someone already has the large pulse laser specialization trained, that means they already got the small, medium and large lasers up to lvl.5 ... so the only thing left to train is specialization for the small, medium and large beams which will take that 7 days or less i mentioned? o.O
(7 days was what that character manager program told me...)
