Hey there,
I've been wondering for a while what ties the whole of my EVE client into only one core when I have 4 of them.
Is it some client stuff or wine stuff? Is there a way to dispatch the charge over multiple cores?

I'm seeing about 50% on 4 cores with 2 clients. Which is about right. 1 core at 100% for each client.
You won't be able to get greater than 1 core with the current client, it's not multicore capable. You can run 2 or 3 or 4 clients though, if you want to light your CPU up.

It's all very simple.
No problem on wine's side but a huge limitation in the "technology" employed by CCP.
Conclusion: I think this game sux, after all ^^
Add to that how I feel that CCP is actually shooting EVE in the foot just to better prepare for their WoD game... That may well be my emoragequit ;-D

Not many games actually use more than 1 core. Supreme Commander is one of the only 'good' games that does. Bad multi-core game engine example would be Grand Theft Auto 4. It needs 4 cores just to play ok because it was developed for the 360 and PS3 where 3+ cores are common. Also remember that several parts of any game is more likely to rely on how threaded the Graphics driver is, not the actual game itself. Nvidia and ATI have had multi-threaded rendering for a while now and that makes a lot of difference.
I think you need to take a deep breath mang.
