Considering that i need to get up at 5:20 Eve Time, i don't see me attending this. Combining this with serious stability issues i have since exodus ( i ctd in every medium battle), i don't think they will get a mail from me. I was very intrested in this, but it just took to long. Also, to many things changed since then, i have other intrests in eve now.

Unfortunately regardless of the time picked people (some) people will have an awkward time. This was picked to nestle inbetween the lapse over between US/EU timezones.
If your unable to attend in your position, let us know so the place can be offered to 3rd place.
With regards to the team objectives. Its not - forced - in sense, if your hellbent on going solo then so be it - not a lot we or your team can do about it (apart from call you a bad spot maybe) ---- Nebulai Vice-Admiral Events Team Interstellar Services Department

From what i gathered and seen sofar, the "euro players" are not exactly just 'some that cant attend', rather the majority ...

I beg to differ, we've had plenty of euros/americans already notifying us they will be racing.
The time will not be changed - everything is already set in motion. If you cannot attend give your place to someone who can.
I'll seek clarification from CCP about the inty changes, I'll let you know if I hear anything.

we do need to know within the next few days..not just a week or so in time. This is of utmost importantance. As well as our other questions answered. Such as the dead space area, how we are to pick up the said items. Race car drivers at least have a chance to walk the track long before the race, why not let us know what kind of race to expect to test ourselves?

btw, since us racers are 'best representatives' for the mega corporation in colossus, couldnt we get some sort of standing boost for the corp we race for?
/me thinks of +10 :) Its not enough to succeed. Others must fail. |

caldari gaming commission announces colossus final date 2005.01.12 10:06:49 | NEW
Following speculation as to what the Caldari Gaming Commission has been doing the last few months, Commission Head Airas Sukela has stepped forward and delivered this statement:
"The Commission is proud to announce that preparations for the COLOSSUS race finals are finished and a starting date and time have been decided. The race finals will be held on the 30th of this month at 22:00 EVT. The race itself will be flown in ten-person teams, each team representing a corporation. It will proceed through waypoints, where items will have to be picked up at each waypoint system."
Airas further stated, "The Caldari Gaming Commission would like to express our excitement for this grand melee and give a big thank you to all our racers. We wish you the best of luck."
Many have speculated whether the announcement's timing has anything to do with the recent separatist rumblings coming from within the notorious Curse Alliance. When questioned as to whether the final race's delay had been in any way connected to potential Caldari/Curse hostilities, Sukela replied:
"The Chief Executive Panel has been busy with internal affairs of a grave nature in the recent months. While it is not my place to comment on those, I will say that any perception of the Caldari State as being an entity easily swayed by acts of terrorism is entirely laughable."
Prizes for the race have yet to be announced.
Contestants racing on finals teams are asked to please send a confirmation mail to [email protected] to let us know you are still racing. Deadline for this confirmation is Jan. 20th.

received no ingame mail yet aswell
tbh this event is getting abit ridiculous. We are getting here absolutly NO information about patch details for relevant ships, lag issues, bug issues (hello bumping anyone) or how the race will work in the end (what will be the teameffort, do we have to make it in a team and so on and so on). In the current state of the game the race will be a farce, and i'm not sure if i'll be willing to risk alot of ISK in equipment, clone and implants for something that wont be a real competition nor fun.
this whole event is going down the drain imo

Just a quick FYI....
I received an evemail in-game last night again asking me to confirm I was racing. There was no mention of the confirmation I had already sent to the email address above.
It would be advisable for everyone to check thier evemail on their racing account...

I have gotten my in game mail and confirmed it.
I've also set up a Wirykomi Team racing channel and thread and spoken with 8 of the 10 racers (including Ethiomel above me) who say that they will be racing on the 30th all things going well.
I think a couple of things about the race do need confirmed though for us.
1)Are all of the items to be picked up (total m^3 of the items combined) less than 10^3, or are we talking about say 5 items at 10m^3? Not a huge thing, but worth confirming one way or the other.
2)How will the pick-up of items be handled? Cargo canisters, personal bookmarks in deepspace, in station, in deadspace fields etc? This could be a MAJOR point for loosing time.
3)Will parts of the race be through deadpace pockets, rendering MWD useless? Or will it be all gate to gate, gate to planet etc?
4)Any more word on the interceptor changes from CCP on the patch on the 25th?

he already answered that everything you have to carry fits in a shuttle, so that makes <10m3
from where to where idc, but the deadspace thing is a must-know imo Its not enough to succeed. Others must fail. |

Given that the interceptor changes have already been updated on the eve-online Item Database, i would think that the interceptor changes will be in the next patch. I'm not relying on it though :) --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |
