EDIT: nvm it works now
And how did you get it working?
uninstalled the eve client after the "eve repair tool" failed, the client didn't do anything at all. Downloaded a fresh client, rebooted and tried to install eve again (eve-premium_004952_207554-mac.dmg) error -4960. Thought maybe the download got corrupted cuz i was downloading afk. So i downloaded the client again and the same error again. :'(
I have the same problem.

Just wanted to share a quick fix I worked out:
I run two clients on my iMac (OS 10.6.5). I ran the first client, and it patched normally with no problems. However, when I tried to patch the second client, it came up with the mini-Tyrannis screen thingie (highly technical language right there :) ) but then failed to actually launch, requiring me to force quit the application.
Apparently, when I first set my system for two clients, I did so by copying the "Eve Online" application in Applications, but I didn't set up two separate preference folders for each client. Thus, they were sharing the same preference folder, and it's never been a problem in the past, even with frequently running both clients at once.
So, the quick fix I used to fix it was to take my preference folder (/Users//Library/Preferences/EVE Online Preferences) and simply dragged the whole "EVE Online Preferences" folder out of there and onto my desktop. I was then able to boot my second EVE client and it patched normally.
The only difference was that, because I had taken away my old preference folder, it created a new, fresh one and thus none of my old preferences were active. However, after the second client had patched and was up to date, I simply trashed the new preference folder that had been created and dragged the old one back from my desktop into the Preferences folder where it was originally.
So there it is. May not be the answer for everyone, but hopefully it will help someone.

I'm exepriencing big FPS drop after installing Incursion. Before, I was on all medium settings with 40-50 FPS, now with all on low I'm getting 20-25 FPS in space. MBpro 2.4 with nvidia 9600M GT.
Anyone else exeperiencing this, or it is a local issue?

Thanks for all the feedback, please note that "error -4960" is most likely a corrupt download and is not something we can really fix on our side, try using a different downloader as some replies here have already suggested.
We'll continue looking into the preference folder issues, in the meantime I suggest people follow the suggestions already made in some replies to this forum and the wiki pages on the subject.

Thanks for the feedback Gangleri, unfortunately we've used about a dozen different downloaders now and we're getting the same results. Please download the file from your CDN and tell us if it's correct, because I don't believe it is. The SHA-1 hash of the file I keep getting is bfacd34562a3d311c0948ce24ee079c50c1dd59c; if nothing else we'd appreciate it if you could post the SHA-1 of the correct file you know to work. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

Sorry for the late reply.
We always verify each patch and installer before making them public, there is of course a margin of error there but in the past we have found these issues to be more likely to occur locally than there being an issue on our end or with our content delivery network. The fact is that different applications have different methods of downloading files and some are not as reliable as others. That said I just downloaded the file from the download link provided here http://www.eveonline.com/download/ using Safari, it verified and mounted without any issues. The SHA-1 key for that file is: b352e1a4545233757eb85f45c2738e13f3677e21
Here are instructions on how to get SHA-1 keys for the file you download: http://www.bresink.com/osx/sha1.html
Common ways of fixing this issue in the past has been to use a wired instead of wireless connection while downloading and/or using a different method for downloading the file, for an example you can use this terminal (can open terminal via spotlight) command to download the current release file to your Downloads folder: cd ~/Downloads; curl -O http://cdn1.eveonline.com/mac/eve-premium_004952_207554-mac.dmg
Please note that this command will overwrite any file with the same name in that folder without asking for confirmation. ------------------ Tester, Scrum Master Quality Assurance

Edited by: Serpents smile on 09/12/2010 16:07:27 I'm running 2 clients, both get into fleet, one client minimizes its fleet window and it disappears. Reset windows does do nothing, and log out reboot again is not an option. So I log out of fleet back in and the fleet window ON THE OTHER CLIENT makes a mysterious move to where none can see it.
Rebooted both clients. The moment I minimize a fleet window one of the 2 vanishes.

Suffering from black screen as discussed here http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1423452
Click on icon, get splash screen, then it goes to a black screen. Sometimes after waiting about 30mins I will get to the login screen and all is fine from there, other times it will hang at the black screen and do nothing at all. Only option is to hard reboot.
In other words game is unplayable now :( Cheers

also black screen - have to hard reboot to get out of it. I've cancelled sub until a fix is in place. No hard feelings - realize that mac users are in the minority. Also, Tsuka13 is a ****.

Also getting the black screen and have to hardboot to get out of it. First installed the Incusrion patch, and after that didn't work re-installed the whole game. Still the same issue.

I just was thinking about why I cannot play on Mac. I realized that. I read somewhere the Incursion patch note that program runs in the background and would not make other application's performance to slow down.
It is really running in the background when I start the program.
That's it!
When Mac Incursion starts, it flashes, but it really "runs in the background" without being able to switch to the program's video or in-game login" I cannot go there.
Simple. probably the character creator works and all with that I already patched it with the latest. But I just cannot go to the login window. Because the program is running in the background for the mac version which is running on Windows (background) but also the program is running on the background (Eve Online) with the OS (WIndows) that runs on the background.

Are you using two clients to use same preference folder?
