Are the still worth what they used to be? What's the effect on skill training compared to before the changes? Is there really that much of a notible diference if I just go with +3's? lol@u |

Same difference of how people trained skills to 5/5 or 4/4.

They only boost you 5 pts instead of 5.5.

On a full min-max remap, assuming optimized skill plan: +5s give you 32/26 -- 2,700 SP per hour. 64,800 per day. 453,600 per week. 23,587,200 per year. +3s give you 30/24 -- 2,520 SP per hour. 60,480 per day. 423,360 per week. 22,014,720 per year. That's 1,572,480 less skill points per year.
You fall 624 hours (26 days) behind every year with +3s. ----- Ambush. Hit and run. Gank before tank. Speed is life. |

very little changes regarding implants. for the best result, +5s are choice for those with ISK. ________________________________ : Forum Bore 'Em : Foamy The Squirrel - [jedi handwave] "There is no spoon." |

Edited by: Petra Katell on 04/12/2010 10:08:31 Nothing really. Just think of it as the same you have now but with a bunch of SP you can reallocate somewhere else.
Each of my chars (5) have a JC with +5's. Are they worth it? Probably not for me, as I spend most of my time pew pewing in +4's. If I were in empire running missions, yeah, you bet, best isk ever spent.

+5 implants are extremely expensive better go with +4. Chances of accidental dying in high-sec are few and far between but still.....
If you pvp in 0.0, you might prefer to go with +3, and only for the main attribute for the skill you are currently training. Keeps the cost down...

I doubt it. Implants will become the only factor that ties your success in game to the training speed of skills. While it is optimal to get the best implants possible, the decision to purchase those have always been rooted in ISK availability and risk issues of losing them.

they are cheap as chips compared to how they used to be back in the day. 1b isk each and more.

+5 are definitelly worth it. If we did not have jump clones I would argue against it but...
With 2+ jumpclones you can have one training clone with full all 5s and whatever hardwirings (mine has industry related for refining etc) and one jump clone with 2 5s in perception+willpower (int+and mem or whatever you are specced at) and combat hardwirings. With 3 spare attribute slot in the combat clone you can plug in some cheap low grade implants that can really boost your effectiveness. Cost if podded? 250m to 300m depending on hardwirrings. Which is what? Ten level 4s? For increased training speed? No brainer really.
Disclaimer: I mainly fly in lowsec and the above can get expensive in 0.0 with bubbles. In lowsec saving your pod is very easy.
