I was talking about being able to show info on the item without having to bring up the BP info first.
currently: r-click menu select, (maybe) change tab, select "makes item". 2/3 steps want: r-click menu select. 1 step

a) If I can 1) drag from corp hanger to my station hanger, then 2) drag from my station hanger to my "ships", ship cargo hold, trade window. Why can I not just drag straight from the corp hanger to the trade window.
b) to rename a station container, I have to drag it to my personal hanger, rename it... drag it back. LAME!!!
c) I can have a BPO in the corp hanger and then research it at a POS in the same system. However, I can only research on it if it is in the base hanger... not in a container. Ditto for building from the BPO remotely. This makes it virtually impossible to organize the BPOs. So I have to scroll through hundreds of BPOs looking for the ones I want. Let me research and build from BPO in can in station hanger.

Currently right-click menus can be a bit of a pain to use quickly. For example, in space, say I want to use the right-click menu to warp to a station to turn in a mission. There's a handy bookmark and everything.
However, if I didn't have the foresight to position my mouse on the right part of my screen, I have to move my mouse from one side of the screen all the way to the other just to navigate the right-click menu. It would be very convenient to have an option to force the right-click menu to alternate which direction they pop up in so that you only have to move your mouse a little to the left or right at each drill-down, instead of all the way across. It already works somewhat like this if it runs out of room to the right, but it would be nice to be able to force this behavior to speed things up.

Wow, a thread of useless criticism and people having opinions about how bad the game is. I'm surprised it's so popular

You say you want to fix alot of really small things but you probably don't have the knowledge or skill to see that "fixing" a lot of small things can really unbalance the game. (butterfly effect). So you need to ask yourself, do you think the Eve community can balance every aspect of the game. Ppl get tunnel vision and only try to fix wat is relevant to them.
CCP has the knowledge and skill to balance every aspect of the game, large or small. They're a neutral party so they have an unbiased approach to the game. So leave the technical work to the professionals, CCP.
And wow ur fast to respond. Do you have a bell that rings everytime someone post in your thread?

Right, because fixing weird interface behaviours, long-standing tiny bugs or simply making some activities slightly less tedious will soooooo toooootally unbalance the game But altering moon mineral build requirements in a way they've been repeatedly warned not to, that's something CCP was great at "fixing", to name just one of the quite a few things they screwed up on, "AMIRITE" ?
Also, CCP picks what they want to fix out of all of this anyway. "We" don't really get a say in it. We just add to the list. This here is just a list of POTENTIAL things that MIGHT need fixing, so CCP has a list long enough to choose from. And occasionally a few suggestions on how to do it, which they don't need to follow, but if it gives them some ideas, what's the problem ? Or a list of small improvements of stuff that's not necessarily broken, but would be nice to be slightly less bothersome. If they don't know what people are annoyed with, how are they supposed to know what's there to fix ? _

I didn't read every page, so I bet these were already said...
More Active Station Environment (Hangar) -Incarna will likely fix this -If we still have the current hangar, why is my ship the only one in a station?
More Active Station Environment (Outside) -'Fake Ships' that come to and warp from stations -Strictly graphics, they can't be targeted, can be flown through (which already happens with player ships at docks) -Adds a level of detail that shouldn't add lag by being a strictly 'graphic' entity: could be disabled for better performance
Bigger Overheat Buttons / Selective Racks -The racks options are good, but... -Allow modules to be put on and off a 'rack': selective overheating -Example: I overheat my MWD but I don't overheat my web, allow the rack button to be set that it only overheats the MWD -Easier to see individual would be good, but keeping the ui minimal is still tough
Multiple Sales -Allow multiple (different) items to be selected and sold -Each different item still has to be OK'd for sale -The items don't have to be individually selected before sale - easily halves the amount of clicking. -If I say 'cancel' on an item because I didn't like the price, continue to next item on the queue -Have a 'cancel queue' button...Oh noz, my alliance needs support NOW
(Not So Small) Missile Graphics Update -New Turret Graphics from Fanfest 2011 - Nifty -Missiles still 'poof' out of ships since...when?
Ship Change Timer -It's just plain annoying. -10 seconds ok...30, not so much. -Not calling for it to be removed, just heavily reduced
Barrel Roll Module -Just because...now for the non-troll version... -Acts as a variant of damage control - for a few seconds (with a larger CD) incoming damage has a 50% chance to miss or some such. Needs PG more so than CPU to power the additional 'thrusters' to pull off the move. -Usable up to Cruisers...damage reduction is factored with signature radius, making larger ships not gain any benefit from the module (but can still use for the sake of seeing a Leviathan Barrel Roll). -Mid-slot since it is a propulsion module
UI Sounds -Have profiles of varying sound types -My friend likes deep-bass sirens, I like AI telling me I'm about to die -EX: Shields at 10% could have various sound effects, based on a profile preset or a custom profile of varying sounds..."Critical Damage to Shields", the traditional fast-siren, "Shields 10%", additional sound effects... -Other parts of ui, from button presses, sales, reprocessing...all could have sound profiles. -SOUNDS ONLY AVAILABLE VIA GAME...I love mods and such, but modding in EVE is probably not a good idea. Up to CCP on that of course. I'm sure this can be done via third party programs now...I'd like to see EVE incorporate their own sounds.
EVE Soundtrack -Last updated...when? -Current songs are good, lets see more. -Categorize - Combat songs have been forever requested, while you're at it. categorize the songs based on their genre or field they represent. Continue to allow outside music to be added as well as building our own playlist, that was a great idea when it finally came!
Cinematics -Youtube HD...cool and useful for recruiting friends. -Opening Video...may need updating, still good. -Racial Videos...I still like them, some don't. -IN-GAME Cinematics: With all this discussion surrounding new player experience and epic arcs, why not have cinematics within the game. The Incarna characters now exist, and soon the stations will too. This lays the groundwork for in-game cinematics...so let's have them!
Long List...some small, some not. Neat Thread btw

1. I'd like the worm hole sigs automatically display the mass size and class of the destination system , while on grid - it is an annoyance to look it up online.
2. I'd like the game to display the NPC damage dealt and tanked - it is an inconvenience since people just reference a table anyway.

* Ships with passive shield tank (i.e. shield extenders, rigs) should have their shield level at 100% when boarded from space or POS hangar, just as they do when boarded in station. For people that live off of a POS thats a problem. Living in a wormhole its quite an issue when I need to quickly grab a ship (curse, tengu, vaga, whatever) and go fight bad guys and watch my shield at 20%

How about a "reprocess" button on the sell item popup box? So if I decide to "sell this", but then see the prices and want to reprocess the item instead, I don't have to close the sell box and then right click the item again to reprocess. I can do it on the sell screen.

Edited by: Tidesson on 02/05/2011 15:51:54 Someone maybe posted this already but, what about a "Loot all" option? So instead of: opening cargo, opening own cargo, select everything, drag and drop it to you own cargo... you can just right click the wreck/container and select a "loot everything" option, that moves all the target cargo to your own cargo provided that you have enough free space.
I see possible problems related to pirate activity, making it easier for them to steal stuff but for PvE wrecks/containers I think it would be a nice add-on, at least for the salvagers/mission runners.

I've been paying for all my accounts with PLEx, but prior to that, all of them have, at one time or another, been paid for with my debit card. When the PLEx expires, the card details are automatically used by CCP to keep the account active.
That's fine, but the cancel account option really needs to be present on my account management page, OR they need to require the user to click on something to return to using the card details.
As it stands, I have to petition to get the account canceled. GMs could surely be doing better things with their time?

I second this one! Anything to reduce the number of clicks (I don't mind the complexity of the UI where necessary, but it can be complex and less of a clickfest at the same time).
I would also add: can we get customizable right-click menu's like we have with the overview? And if so, can we also be allowed to save multiple templates for different uses?

My EVE Jukebox is horribly broken. I turned on the game's normal music (cue the EVE has sound joke) and while each song played okay for about the first minute, they would suddenly switch to the next at a random time, usually 1-2 minutes in.
See, this wouldn't be such a big deal, except that it was the reason I stopped using the EVE jukebox a year and a half ago on a completely different operating system. It's been broken the whole time (and probably for a long time before).
Please spend some time making sure it works properly. Also, some new songs would be great. EVE's 8 years old now, and the songs haven't changed. Signature locked and removed. Zymurgist |

1. I would like a single web page linked on the Eve Online navigation menu for tracking this thread and related activities: - automatically update new ideas hourly from the thread, with time stamp - weekly, update status of each idea: pass, go, testing, complete - top of page: count of completed vs. count of total ideas

Hope CCP are still reading this, also why has this not been made a sticky?
Anyway some ideas on the drone interface
Drone window should include attack/return/orbit commands - this would allow for one click commands of a specific group of drones or individual drones without having to select them first - this would not make the window any bigger as the three commands can go next to the drone name/group name - these commands would only need to be represented by a symbol like on the selected item window (maybe double click required for attack so no mistakes are made) - additional commands would also be nice like orbit selected target or the possibility to make them shoot at incoming missiles (with a % chance of destroying them linked to a new skill)

..and id also like to be able to select multiple wrecks/cans that are in range of my ship (by pressing shift or control and clicking as with items) and use a 'loot all' command --- or loot all to nearby cargo container (drop down list appears with all cargo containers in range of my ship) ...then i can choose where all this stuff goes.

I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but somehow everyone else seems completely oblivious to this. Kernite yields almost as much mexallon as plagioclase and also almost as much isogen as omber, thus making plagioclase and omber inferior to kernite by default, and all 3 are available in highsec. Kernite is only available in Amarr space. Pyroxeres yields a lot of nocxium along with its decent yields of other minerals, thus making it rival the value of the lowsec and nullsec ores that are high in nocxium: jaspet, hedbergite, hemorphite, and dark ochre. It is available in highsec Amarr and Caldari space.
Having these 2 ores give such high yields poses 2 problems that unbalance mining: 1.) Mining is much less profitable in Gallente and Minmatar space, so many miners either move to Amarr or Caldari space, or just stop mining altogether. Still more don't realize they could be making so much more than they are, and complain that mining doesn't make enough money even though it's what they like doing. 2.) Lowsec ores aren't noteworthy, so there's little reason to go to lowsec to mine.
Also Spodumain gives a small amount of megacyte and almost nothing else, so it's value is generally very low for a nullsec ore.
-- Possible fixes? I'd say: Pyroxeres: greatly reduce nocxium yield. It has plenty of other stuff to make it a useful ore. Also, there needs to be value in the other ores that do have high nocxium yield.
Kernite: reduce the mexallon and isogen yield so that its total mineral yield is similar to other highsec ores.
Spodumain: drastically increase the tritanium and pyerite yield, both making this ore worth mining, and allowing nullsec miners to get tritanium/pyerite without having to mine cheap veldspar/scordite. --

In-game when I hit 'reply all' to a mailing list eve mail I get a pop-up which warns that I am about to send a mail to a mailing list that I am a part of.
For starters, DUH!!
Second, this seems to screw up the TO: box such that it doesn't recognize the mailing list as a valid recipient. As such I cannot reply to mailing list mails using the client. I can however do this with great effect using EVE Gate.
Because my corp uses mailing lists to keep running conversations between leadership going this 'quirk' is EXTREMELY ANNOYING!!
