+1 If you think if a thread has over 10 pages it is necessary for, at the very least, a "we're aware and looking at it" blue post. More would be damn nice but the F&I forums is full of people who care enough about the game to duel out tiny little differences in idea suggestions because they want to help make the game perfect. A courtesy of attention to the highest activity issues should be given, and will allow a better sticky to be created ("Dev Responses to Hot Topic ideas"). -More Pewpew, Less QQ- |

If they aren't already looking, there's no point in even having this forum.
If a high volume thread isn't worth looking at, there's no point in even having this forum.
So, I'm operating under the assumption that the devs weren't lying when they have said they look at these forums. A quick response to show they're taking the fact that an issue seems to be a hot topic seriously isn't too much to ask for if they're already, you know, spending time reading it instead of developing. -More Pewpew, Less QQ- |

Originally by: Glyken Touchon A rule like this would be abused.
spam would ensue.
A more valid concern then the first response, but if someone spams currently they technically do get a blue post when they lock the thread already.
The 10 page limit was based off the current threads, which there are several of which 10+ pages long and have either valid thoughts or good suggestions.
All said and done, a mandatory rule for dev attention is abusable, I'll give you that. The current state of selective responding though, especially when the response is a "We're looking at it" on a 1 page thread with multiple multi-page threads on another subject right below it, is silly.

Why should they respond to a thread if they have no input on the idea at hand? Do you know how many truly stupid ideas get posted in here that make it to five or ten pages? A lot more than the ones with good ideas.
They do it already. The Drake thread - "We're looking at it." 1st page of another random drake thread - "We're looking at it."
The idea being stupid or not is generally not the issue. A dev can say 'This is a stupid idea'.

Originally by: Infinity Ziona Anyone have any real insight, other than speculation, as to why developers (not just in EvE) behave like they do.
From personal experience it's either in house arguments or the fear that if you ever admit that you know something is a problem then the players won't stop hounding you until it's fixed.
Granted, the community I developed in was small enough to where I gladly called people f-tards and what have you for stupid ideas, and was high enough up that if I thought an idea was good I could push it through without worrying about half the BS CCP likely has to deal with.
