Hi all,
Generally when I do level 4 missions and I encounter webs/scrams, I throw my AB on and head 180 degrees the opposite direction of them and start lobbbying heavy missiles there way. Normally, I can do it without problem and worst case scenario I'm webbed for 30 seconds before I get them down and take minimal damage.
However I did a mission recently where there were 6 or so of them and some serious BC/BS firepower. I had to warp out and was luckily not scrammed.
As a Tengu pilot, how do I deal with these situations? My setup is 6x HML II's, Scourge Fury missiles, 2x Gistii small SB, 1x Rep AB, Invul II, and a hardener; 4x BCU II's.
Thanks for the advice! |

Scourge precision, or t1 scourge. Your furies don't do much damage against smaller targets, hense the precision. Also Target painting helps. not sure if you can sacrifice the tank for a tp though |

Whatever you do, don't use T2 high damage (and low sig) missiles.
A little easier with other T3s, but webbers are still primary. |

Pretty much what others have said, don't use Fury missiles as they don't hit frigs as hard and they increase your sig radius making you take more damage. |

Add "velocity" column to your overview, as soon as tackle frig starts accelerating to mwd speed shoot it. Thats the pr0 way. Other than that t1/faction t1/precision missiles and set of rigors kills even hardest npc frigs in few volleys.
Dont forget that sometimes you dont have to kill them at all to finish the mission (unless they are scramming you). |

1 Rigor/2 Flares or 1 Rigor/1 Flare/1 Ancillary for the 100mn PvP variant. Frigs die in a couple of volleys even when using Furies with T2 rigs.
You can use T1 rigs and T1 Scourge, fact is Precision missiles slow you down and it's even worse.
Also do note that Furies blow up your sig radius so you will take more damage whilst being webbed, so there's no reason to have them loaded if you're expecting webbers. Scrammers are irrelevant, you can always pull range on them with a bit of overheating your prop mod, with decent skills it should go at least a cycle without any damage. |

Keep some Caldari Navy missiles in your hold for the frigs. Kill the frigs as soon as you land in the site. Kill a few while they are burning a straight line at you. Then switch out to your Fury's when the frigs are done. Caldari missiles are a little spendy for missioning.
Trade the 2 Gistii smalls in for 1 Medium Booster (I use a Large) and a Target painter. You're probably caught up on 'cap stable'. Cap stable don't mean **** if your dying and can't outboost the incoming. You only need enough cap to get through those 6 frigates, then you will start syg tanking again. Seriously consider the large sb.
You could drop a BCU for a DC II. That would let you have some resisted buffer if you get in serious trouble. I'm not sure the 4th BCU helps all that much anyway. Best way to see real results is count vollies with 4 mounted , then with 3 mounted.
A couple guys use fits with 1 power diagnostic down there. More Cap, more Power, faster recharge for both. I use them on my CNR but never have on my Tengu's. Might be an alternative for you.
Did I mention the Large SB? |

Alternatively, learn which missions not to take. Not all of them are Tengu-friendly. I'm assuming you're talking about Silence the Informant which, yeah, is just a pain in the ass mission that's hardly ever worth accepting. |

The drone bs in room 1 are something like 712k isk bounties each.

Huh. That changes the calculations a bit. I'd forgotten altogether that they'd added drone bounties. |

Going against the trend here, I use the Rifling Launcher Pattern sub which allows drones, and Hobby II's are usually good enough to take on even elite frigs and cruisers (with a bit of help from a single launcher with T1 scourges). I usually swap to T1 scourges fro smaller ships then swap to T2 Furies for the bigger ships. |

You're correct. I took this mission and had a scare when I got webbed so hard. Lucky I didn't get scrammed.
I'll try and run with Precision missiles alongside my Fury, and see if this helps.
Thanks for all the help! |

the near group in the 2nd room doesn't auto aggro. I don't remember it being a pain in the tengu. but the spider drones are annoying anywhere. |
