Each time I venture into low sec I get jammed, webbed and then blown to kingdom come and podded.
What can I use to counter being disabled each time so I can at least put up a fight? I triednusing my own webs and jammers but I am already stuffed by the time I am in range.

There isn't a direct counter to webs per se; most of that battle is won at the fitting screen as you fit to fight at beyond 12.5km. Fit ECCM in mids or lows to be more resistant to jamming, not a cure-all but it helps. If it's really an issue, form a RECCM chain with your gang.

Edited by: Soldarius on 05/12/2010 08:15:30 um... mwd cloak? Honestly, if you get jammed as part of a gate camp, you're pretty much screwed. Best bet is to gtfo. What you do really depends on your situation. Friendly fleet size, opposing fleet size and composition, etc.
Counter-jamming is a good tactic, assuming your ECM ship has a faster lock time than the opposing ECM bird, as well as a good jam strength. Dedicated ECM ships typically have a much greater sensor strength than other ships of their size, making them harder to jam.
Fit an ECCM module. If your fleet has lots of drakes or other ships with utility highs, remote ECCM is a good choice as you can focus your ECCM on friendly jammed ships. If you can spare the mid use active ECCM mods. They double your sensor strength. As long as you're not completely outnumbered, you and yours should stand a chance. Primary the ECM ship. If even a couple ships get hits, it should pop pretty quickly, or at least leave the field for a time.
Most pirates will be carrying a web and a point. So there really isn't much you can do about that. Once the ECM is off the field, you can concentrate fire on the high dps ships.
If you are flying solo in losec and don't want to fight, go covert if possible. If not, fit a regular cloak and MWD. If you are looking for a solo fight, good luck. Fly cheap. Pick your targets wisely. IF you lose, no big deal. If you win, don't stick around. Pray you don't run into a gate camp.
EDIT: neuts will ruin and ECM ship's day. no cap = no jamming. You just have to get close enough. And if you're already jammed, you can't neut him out. "When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk." |

You shouldn't even try to put up a fight. If you didn't choose to engage them, then you shouldn't start pondering it when you get hot dropped, because they already did consider it and found that they could probably take you. Your first instinct should always be to just get away, then you can ponder if you want to track them down and engage them on your terms.
If its a gate camp then either you are the scout of a fleet and your FC will make the call or you should just try to get away. |

Kill them all.
If that fails, MWD away from them like a madman.

Edited by: Jamradar on 07/12/2010 03:31:15 Edited by: Jamradar on 07/12/2010 03:28:21 If you're alone or outnumbered and the opposing group has ecm ships out, you really have a very few options in dealing with getting jammed.
If you've fitted ECCM, you should be able to survive better against each jam attempt, thus giving you more time to fight, but tbh, you should either take out the ecm ship early on (they're usually off at their optimals which is anywhere from 30km to 100+km, so maybe if you're in a fast ship. BUT if they are close and in range of your guns, take them down first, dedicated ecm ships usually don't have much tank at all.) or kill whatever you can kill and gtfo or just gtfo entirely cause the longer you're on field with an ecm ship, the more likely he'll get a jam off on you.
Also, a lot of fights happen on gates, so if the ecm pilot is a blazing idiot and jams you during the fight, recall your drones instantly and let your gate aggro timer end and jump.
Personally, if they brought in an ecm ship and I'm solo, I'd just get out, cause the fights gonna go from "pretty cool" to "complete misery" real fast.
As for webs, if you have a mwd, overload that sucka and burn out and away. But usually, if you're in web range AND you're webbed, you're at their mercy if they are packing a warp scrambler.

By jammed I think he means warp jammed, or scrammed.
The other guys are right, by the time they engage they usually know they have enough to beat you. You want to be on the webbing, scramming side. Don't engage obvious bait like Drakes, keep moving, always fit a MWD, learn to overheat for more speed.

If you are alone and there are several of them you are most likely going to get ganked whatever you do. This is why you should have friends.

Outnumber them with your friends. Overkill works. Geht help with logistic ships. Bring in more ecm, faster ecm, strong logistic ships with eccm.
