Hello all :)
Just a quick question - if you had a manticore with a sensor damp, scripted to target scan resolution do you think it would be practical to re-cloak before bigger ships (say battleships) could lock you therefore preventing the re-cloak?
IIRC, its a 30 second delay on recloaking, do you think its likely a decent damp could push, say battleship sized targets (not using SeBos) out past this window? Would be awesome hit & run but since I'm at work and the calculations are not that simple I wanted to ask you more experienced folks :)
I guess it wouldnt need to be a manticore, but the slot layout seems to work better with them than say a hound.
If its not practical then it'd just be a waste of a midslot but if it is, then you'd have ridiculous hit & run capability. Of course, this assumes that you can cloak when someone is locking you - I dont know that one either.

Yes, one sensor damp will give a BS pilot around 40seconds locking time on a SB if u are not running mwd. But question is, what can u do within this 45secs? Two volleys of a torps will only dent BSs EHP.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: "For me EvE wasn't that much fun, many ppl refer to it as a nicely designed database front-end and that |

Edited by: afkalt on 07/12/2010 12:16:10 The theory would be to pop in & out of cloak with impunity.
Unless he aligns you ought to be able to repoint constantly. You should be able to apply your DPS without return from the BS.
Edit: Shocking spelling

Drones auto aggro back if they are on orbit preventing you from cloaking as they will target you. First thing any BS pilot does when pointed by stealth bomber is to recall the drones to orbit. The second you blink the cloak and repoint him you will have flight of drones on your head without him needing to target you.

Edited by: Zachary Crow on 07/12/2010 12:42:58 I thought of doing this a long time ago with a friend in another stealth bomber. We would alternate the recloaking times and constantly keep a point on the target, also stacking our damps for max effect. Along with the adequate implants, I think this could be used against battlecruisers and maybe some cruisers, but I'm not good at calculating target times.
Of course against ships without drones obviously =).

Well some are n00bs, or panic and dont do that. You can always bail if you see him recalling drones to orbit.

This is very true, especially if they dont expct you to drop back into cloak, they may wait on the lock to use the drones.
