Edited by: Claire Voyance on 07/12/2010 18:33:01 I am about to move into 0.0 permanently and would like to leave missioning behind as a means of making isk to support my PvP habit. Anomalies caught my attention, and I was wondering what the opinion of the experts in this forums were.
Which T1 ship would be the fastest to complete such anomalies comfortably?
How would you fit it?
I do have certain ideas myself, but do not want to influence any replies. What do you reckon?
P.S. And I realize I could have put this into Ships & Modules. But since I'm asking about anomalies specifically, I hope you can excuse my impertinence.

T1 frigs are not exactly the best for 0.0 due to too many reasons I don't have time to list.
Best stuff to live and roam and explore about is a T3.
A poor man's choice would be a cov ops + Hurricane. - Auditing & consulting

I don't think Claire is talking about exploration, but about running the cosmic anomalies that you find with the on-board scanner, for example, the type that your alliance can cultivate with a sovereignty upgrade.
The anomalies come in all sizes, so really you could do them with something as small as a cruiser and work up to the more difficult ones. The most difficult are the Havens and Sanctums, and they are taxing (but possible) even in a well-fit battleship with good skills. I recommend you bring your best mission ship and figure out which size anomalies you can do.

High DPS or High Tanking ships are best. Hard to believe the posters above me didn't just answer the question.

That is exactly what I meant.
Thank you for the replies so far.
I thought that missile ships would be mentioned immediately. If we narrowed down the choice to turret ships, however, which of these would you consider most effective? Money is not a problem, but I would like to keep it on the cheap side at the beginning, as I am more used to low-sec than 0.0.
Any turret ships that are well-known to be able to efficiently handle said anomalies?

I used to solo Haven (second toughest) anomalies against the Angels in a shield-tanked Hurricane. Finish one, take a couple of minutes for a bio break, d-scan for a new Haven to kill -- they're an ISK-printing machine in upgraded null-sec systems. I could also solo the ring-type Sanctum anomalies, but they took too long.
My fit:
[Hurricane, Serrated Blade] Gyrostabilizer II Power Diagnostic System II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II
Invulnerability Field II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II
650mm Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion M 650mm Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion M 650mm Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion M 650mm Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion M 650mm Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion M 650mm Artillery Cannon II, Republic Fleet Fusion M 'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher, Caldari Navy Havoc Heavy Missile 'Arbalest' Heavy Missile Launcher, Caldari Navy Havoc Heavy Missile
Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I
Valkyrie II x1 Warrior II x4
Haven tactics: Sit in one spot and let the enemy pound you while you kill them one by one. With 243 HP/s shield recharge, there isn't much danger. Ring-type Sanctum tactics: Orbit each target at whatever range you get the best hits to mitigate some of the incoming damage. ----- Ambush. Hit and run. Gank before tank. Speed is life. |

Thanks for the answers.
Hooligan, do you reckon the Hurricane to make enough damage, or is progress rather slow. What about a Minmatar BS, would that do the trick better, or only at about the same speed?

I was averaging 32-35 million ISK per hour in bounties while doing Angel Haven anomalies. I had quite a few Domination guys show up and drop faction stuffs, plus I got the occasional escalation to sweeten the deal. My Serrated Blade 'cane only got unbearably slow while trying to do Sanctums. I might be more tolerant than most as far as killing speed goes -- I used to solo L4 missions (including bonus rooms) in a Myrmidon, so I'm probably used to taking longer.
As far as Minmatar battleships go, I don't have any experience with them. Their hulls are fugly, so I won't fly them. ----- Ambush. Hit and run. Gank before tank. Speed is life. |

I put different setups in EFT, I found the Raven does the best dps with long range cruise missiles. (As most everything engages at 44km or lower.) And the Abaddon is the best armor tank. Other than that, I found what worked best for me was a Raven (130-160m worth of fittings?) with tons of shield hardeners, and a Remote Shield Rep Basilisk (w/ cloak of course).
I was able to tank Sanctums easily, I got somewhere around 10m (in bounties) per a tick, which is around 40m/hour.
Your mileage may vary. War... War never ends. |

Use a maelstrom if you wanna take a minmatar BS into 0.0 anomolies. It can be shield tanked well, and fit with the largest ACs you can and damage mods in low, you can reduce the ammount of damage you take quickly by just pounding away at em.

If you're in a sanctum alone in a drake while there are other people trying to run you deserve to be podded. Also doing havens will get you more isk/h as you can kill the rats faster.
Where I live we have a strict food chain. If you are solo in a sanctum and someone brings something that can do the job better, you leave the sanctum. Usually people fleet you and help you clean up though.
Carrier/marauder/faction BS > BS/command > other stuff
Best bet would be a BS to run stuff in. Or BC if you don't have the skills. Anything smaller will not do well. - This one time, at gate camp, I shot a shuttle... |

I run Havens in a passive shield tanked AC Hurricane. I then salvage them with a dessie afterwards. Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

I've used to following setup to do the Sansha anomalies a while ago:
[Apocalypse, Apocalypse Sniper] Large Armor Repairer II Adaptive Nano Plating II Tracking Enhancer II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Reactor Control Unit II
100MN Afterburner II Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L Mega Beam Laser II, Multifrequency L
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hammerhead II x5 Hobgoblin II x5
Your speed and distance is your tank, just stay at around 60 to 70KM and be watchfull. It's also really easy to kill small ships from that distance.
If you run Sanctums and Havens with it it yields about 13 to 15mil per 20 minutes probably due to being able to constantly apply full damage to the targets as they are pretty much always in your optimal range.
Oh and don't forget to carry a set of Gamma crystals aswell!
