Edited by: Star Jump on 09/12/2010 05:37:09 i am in a small corp with a couple friends and we want to look into running a pos for fun and what not, we dont have the ships or the resorses to run a low sec pos.
when i fly around moons in highsec i see POS with moon miners at them but when i tryed to put in a moon miner at our pos it was not allowed. I am wondering why ccp will not allow new moon miners to be deployed in high sec.

Its a carrot meant to lure ppl down to pvp area.
Quite ok IMO
What really confuses me - why isnt it allowed in 0.4 as well ... thats something i find wierd.

I.

I blame enviromentalists! Always standing in front of progress, demanding that you dont dump your industrial waste directly into rivers, cant make strip mine here or there. Hugging the trees and ewoks on cute forest moons while all you want to do is use giant tractor beams stripping off the surface of the moon from orbit.

Does not compute. - It's not "Play through a pre-set story, become stronger, do endgame". Gameplay is open ended, and you make your own story. Unless you're too afraid of 'pvp grief' to do anything relevant |

We need planet goo, not just moon goo.

here's the deal.
you can raise cattle in Texas, but not Oklahoma.
why?
Oklahoma has too many letters.
tis another rule to try to get carebears to stick their necks out in pursuit of greater rewards.

fair enough but why dont they make it so you can have a high sec mining pos but only low end moon mins in space. just enough at the moons to break even on say a large pos.
then us 6 man corps can have our weekend fun and get the all important mins on the market for all them combat seeking junkies.

First off, because most moon mineral types will NOT be sufficient even for "breaking even". Also, because if they would do that at the CURRENT prices with some of the middle moonmins, in a matter of weeks, those moonmins that have been allowed to be "mined" in highsec will all of a sudden drop in price radically thanks to a huge surplus from people trying to do exactly what you described. It would be pointless either way. _

It'd be nice to do reactions at a highsec pos but then prices would plummet even more
