Wardecs are broken. We can all agree on this. The fundamental issue with wardecs is that they are easily dodged by dropping to an NPC corp for the duration of the dec. So, I want to propose an addition to the wardec feature: Individualized wardecs.
For a price of 10m per declaration, you would gain unlimited rights to kill a specific person. This would cost twice as much for every active personal wardec you have active, so the sequence is geometrically more expensive.
But there is a downside to avoid selectively wardeccing some guy in some player corp:
IF YOU DEC AN INDIVIDUAL INSIDE A PLAYER-CORP, HIS CORP MATES CAN SHOOT YOU FIRST BUT NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
That balances it to allow corpmates to protect someone who has been decced.
And this would let people declare war on individuals within NPC corps, meaning that people can no longer wimp out. Thanks for your time. All trolling replies will be promptly reported to CCP.

The war dec mechanics isn't just broken because it can be easily avoided. War is as easily avoided as it can be declared. You're asking to fix one side only, presumably the side that benefits you, and ignoring the other side.
Propose a fix both sides so it isn't used as a grief tool and you have my support. Otherwise, leave as it is.

Edited by: Eternum Praetorian on 09/12/2010 20:45:55 Is a "trolling reply" one that avidly disagree with your post? If I thought your proposal was borderline ludicrous would that be trolling?
I suggest that you even mentioning reporting people is nothing more then an attempt to keep your poorly conceived idea dominant in a discussion, and have CCP keep the mean kids away for you.
This poorly thoughtout, half baked and one sided idea does not belong in General Discussion so post it in the "Ideas" section like everyone else does. Then you will likely have less people to "report"

Confirming this is the dumbest idea I've read so far. Your proposal only benefits you and no one else. Not to mention that this takes griefing way to far as many people would just quit eve due to unlimited personal wardecs. CCP wouldn't want that. -----------------

Actually what's he's describing is a pay to grief system.

How about dropping a wardec on a corp. Anyone leaving the corp will be killrighted for the remaining week of the wardec, jump out all you want, the stench of your associates will linger, for a max of 7 days.

More like +10 I would say. This would be perfect for harassment play. Terrible idea OP.

Absolutely not. This is just a cheap way for you to troll someone into quiting the game. You can't force players to PvP with you in high sec. That's why it's HIGH SEC. You just want easy ganks without manning up and running a suicide gank. Pitiful. If you really want surprise PvP that bad then grow the stones to pirate in low sec, where this kind of behavior is supposed to happen. Don't pretend you can cheese your way through it by riding the war dec system, which works perfectly fine. People don't have to fight you. Plain and simple. If you want to force it upon them you have to be willing to sacrifice. You aren't, so you don't deserve any kills.

Hmmm...that's an entertaining thought. I had one guy who smacktalked to some pvp corp and got us wardecced months ago. I defended the guy(he's a carebear) through and through only to have him abandon us. What a coward. So this idea I may just fancy :) -----------------

That's already the only purpose of wardecs.

Again, Mr.Mememe, that is exactly what that would mean... those wimps definitely should be cannon fodder... for you... and maybe a team mate? No?

I applaud you for your correct description of the cost growing as Geometric and not Exponential.
Otherwise, I understand your desire, but this doesn't really fix the mechanic, and will really lead to more griefing of noobs I think. ====================================== Do you really care what trolls say? The WHOLE point of a wardec is to harrass and grief someone...or multiple someones...anybody who says otherwise is an idiot.
If not to harrass and grief other players than why do it? Trade flowers and dance?

War dec's are not broken. Declaring war on a corporation and forcing it to disband is job complete.
If it annoys you then you need to up the ante a little and declare on bigger targets. The bigger the target the less likely and practical it is to disband the corporation or leave for npc corps.
I declare exclusively on alliances now, from 200 to 1000 members. There are many who are exclusively high / low sec.
I haven't had an alliance disband or mass leave to npc corp yet.

corp warfare isn't one on one, you want to do that? thats lowsec or just out and out high sec ganking, In fact no ones stopping you hs ganking at all. if all you want to do is kill one guy.
The trouble with you guys is you probably want to target just one guy (flying muraderer or tengu) and you want his stuff, and you dont want any consequences what so ever.
