For the life of me I cannot commit myself to grinding missions for money. So what are some other methods of getting some income, besides scamming and piracy, that is. ________________ "Why yes, I'm sure you''d be much better at designing and balancing EVE than CCP." Trading and hauling. Thats the 0.01 isking game. Buy low, sell high. Its just as boring as missions. Theres also the option of working IRL and then buying PLEX's and selling them.
Making isk sucks.

Making isk mining is pretty easy. Once you get a mining barge (at least a retriever), you can load it up with strip miners and start mining. Find a quiet belt and you can usually just throw the minerals into a jettison can without worry of anyone stealing your minerals. It's especially easy if you're doing it while doing something else, like online homework or browsing youtube videos. Just remember to check back every 3 minutes or so in between strip miner cycles to empty your cargohold. When the can fills up or you want to quit, go get an industrial ship and haul it back.
If your refining skills are good, you can refine the ore and sell the minerals. If not, just sell the ore. Also, having an exhumer to mine with gives you a much larger cargohold and allows you to be AFK for longer periods of time while mining. Basically, as isk comes in faster, mining gets easier. You can easily make at least 3-4 mil per hour in a retriever mining Veldspar, or with an Orca present and mining in a Hulk, you could make some 15 mil per hour mining kernite. Get a group together if you do that cause the orca pilot will want a cut of your pay.
P.S. when mining alone, don't forget to have your drones out when you go AFK. Mining barges are paper thin!

What exactly does one do in WHs to make money? Same goes for exploration.

If you can fly a BC or above competently, join a 0.0 corp and start ratting in nulsec. You can eaither belt rat or run anomalies and make 30mil+ an hour.
You can also go the PLEXing route and scan signatures to combat complexes and hope to get big ISK items to drop.

Ever wondered where that pithum c-type mod that's worth 350m in Jita comes from? That's exploration for you.
Exploration Basics 1) Get Probes (or do the tutorial missions and get free probes) 2) Find Sites 3) Make bank.
Step 2 is gonna be a bit tricky in high sec. These are the things you should be looking at.
Radar sites - Invention Stuff (10 to 15m per site) Magnometric sites - Salvage (garbage usually but i've gotten the odd t2 drop worth 20m or so) Ladar sites - Gas Mining (not sure about this) Gravimatric Sites - Minerals (Mine them for ISK) Unknown - Wormholes and Complexes (Complexes can drop up to 500m in high sec for the real nice ones)
Your first exploration ship can be a frigate (i'd recommend imicus because of the 3 drones) or a cruiser (recommend Arbitrator because it can be dual-armor-rep tanked). You'll probably need either a friend who can use a decent battlecruiser (drake) or a t3 on stand by if you find some nice plex. Plexes are rated from 1/10 to 10/10. High sec plexes only show up to 4/10 which are battlecruiser class.
You can also make money in wormhole space by destroying the NPCs known as the sleepers. Although they don't have bounties, they drop some NPC-Pay-Me-Goods and if you salvage you can get stuff for t3 production including nanoribbons (5m each) last time i checked. A well-tanked cruiser (read dual rep, read Arbitrator) can do some light Class 1 wormhole work while anything higher should be done in a decent battlecruiser (recommend Drake).
Play around with the probes until you're good at it and go make some bank.

Buy a PLEX with RL cash, sell it for ISK. Simple really unless you are someone who's totally inept at making RL cash in which case you probably shouldn't be wasting time playing online games in the first place.

PI as mentioned as well as research agents. Great passive income, for a little bit of clicking. Income is determined by how much you want to put into it.

I like low sec ratting and salvaging.
Ratting gets me isk, occasional PVP and occasional unique drops.
Salvaging lets me build rigs for isk..
Go figure. Everybody has their own idea of fun

If you think piracy is profitable, you might as well start selling naked pics to fat goth girls who wear capes and fly internet spaceships.

Wormholes are the single fastest way to make ISK.
In a class 3 soloable in a T3 you can make 100 million isk in 40 minutes. This of course depends on the luck of drops from sleepers but if you find a nice wormhole with plenty of sites you can become a billionaire in a day if you really grind the sites out.

Edited by: LOL CYBERKNIGHTS on 17/12/2010 10:52:07 Making isk can be horribly boring sometimes mate, the best thing to do is find what you enjoy doing and see if you can make isk out of that, even if it's not mega-bucks.
Basically trading is the best way to make isk, people may argue that 0.0 NPC grinding and plexing / wormhole sites are best, but that brings with it a whole other aspect of the game, pvp, combat fitting etc. And you can find yourself losing isk faster than making isk (if you a n00b, you sound like a n00b tbh)
If you find yourself truely restricted in doing what you enjoy because of lack of funds, put aside a few weeks to put your all into trading and making your wallet a little bigger.
(Also, if you hate missions but are mostly a combat specc'd character, the faction warfare missions can be very profitable, and are quicker/easier than lvl4 grinding)

1) Let someone else make the isk 2) Steal it 3) Deny all knowledge of said theft 3b)Optional, find a stooge or a patsy to take the heat for your missdeads.

or you could study the market and put up long-term orders
but hey, if you think trading is only .01 isking then more power to you (and more isk to me)
