this is completely out of order. nvidea (until recently) did most graphics cards for macs, its unbelievable you didnt test the patch with an nvidea mac or few before releasing the patch. the client wont even black screen me now after this coding malarki. this is not my job to program the game for you CPP, its yours. get it sorted before i ask for a refund

I had: shadowsEnabled=0
already in my ini but i added shadowsEnable=0 anyway. figured it couldn't hurt as its' only an .ini setting.
I am thinking that the black screen on load for me might have something to do with a faulty shutdown on the previous log off? maybe prefs don't save correctly and it tries to configure the next time it loads?
fingers crossed,
helixx

after putting the line in there, it took me 3x to get into eve. once the app just went off to nevernever land (Activity Monitor reports "Not Responding"), once i got the Incursion splash screen and it stopped responding as well. the third restart (after killed process from the Activity Monitor window) worked fine.
I went in and optimized for performance as well, so we'll see how that goes.

not keen on trying again as i hate force restarting my mac, just worrying about how much damage its doing!
is there any other way to kill the black screen apart from alt tabbing?

sure, just press comd + Q, then press enter.
i chmod 444 my pref.ini and started pasting all the stuu that worked for others, still no luck, CCP is there a "safe mode" comand?

I didn't have the line shadowsEnabled=0 so I just ran the repair tool and that took care of it

Any update????????? Its been over a week already?! Id like to know what reimbursements we will receive for this disruption of service... Because we deserve something for putting up with this disgraceful treatment, and for trying to do the re-programming ourselves!! Which is unheard of!!! So is the issue fixed yet or not?! All the steps ive tried have not worked, my petition goes unanswered.......

I would just like to note for anyone looking at this thread that this just started for me, and it seemed to come up only after i turned Anti-Aliasing on. Just a fair warning...
