Ladies and Gents,
I'm trying to establish a small manufacturing capability in low-sec in order to build ships for PvP. This will allow us to keep from making runs into high-sec to replace ships. Modules and ammo are easily brought in in cloaky-haulers. We don't have access to a Jump Freighter or an Orca. We've got plenty of manufacturing slots and the blueprints necessary, but getting the materials is a challenge. I've been trying to do some hauling, but its time consuming given the small quantities we can move in one load. Are there players that can make importing large quantities of minerals cost-effective for us? I'm afraid that simply contracting with someone that has a JF would add too much to the cost of the minerals for us to meet our price points on the ships we're trying to build. I can turn the ships quickly, but getting the new materials in place for subsequent production is slowing us down.
Thanks,
VK

Buy a battleship in high sec, fly it to your location in low sec (don't lose it along the way), reprocess it. Rinse & repeat.

Buy or manufacture "compressed" minerals with items like 800mm Repeating Artillery I, haul that with your blockade runner, and refine in station. Calculate how much you would lose from imperfect refining skills, corp standings with the station owner below 6.67, and the base refine rate of the station (35% or 50%).
800mm Repeating Artillery I has something like a 34:1 ratio between the volume of the module and the minerals that it refines into.
Black Frog Logistics can also JF 360k m3 for 45mil. It could be more cost efficient to produce ships in high sec and pay for them to be jumped out, instead of raw minerals that will likely take up more space. It depends on how much of what kinds of ships you're making. |

try to contact Kazuo Ishiguro (no idea how actively he plays but he ran/runs a mineral compression service)

I sent you an EvE mail regarding a possible agreement. I have a Corp that can mine and move the minerals to your location. Check the mail and reply with information on what quantities you need, what area of space are you in, and other essential details. Hope we can do business.

Iteron V, T2 cargo expanders, Huge Cargo Containers, cargo extension rigs and a cloaking device. Scout the jump point/system, jump in with Iteron V, align and directly cloak, when aligned and there are no hostiles around, warp. Rinse and repeat. Preferably do this at times when the neighborhood is relatively quiet or at least the bullies aren't around. I did this a few times with a fleet of three Iteron Vs and a scout, was exhilarating ;-)
You could also post the buy orders in station or use transport contracts.

is so funny to me when Gankbears realize how difficult logistic really is. So cute. Carry on!

Hey listen, I understand completely how difficult it is. I learned early on how valuable a credible logistical capability is. What I'm looking for is to create a sustainable production capability inside low-sec. And for one of the earlier posters, right now, I'm using a Bustard in a max cargo configuration, and its not very efficient for the volume of mats I need to move. To the poster who recommended reprocessing modules--thanks. I've been looking at that, but hadn't gone through the entire module list to see what was going to refine best. I was also able to pick up two battleships being sold locally for less than refine value, so I'm looking for those types of opportunities as well.
Finally, thanks for the offer to do business. I'll take a look at your mail and get you a quick response.

Sure. Only problem is I'm a combat spec'd guy and don't have nearly the skills to be close to an Orca, nor do I have access to the isk required for a JF. So, short term, was looking to see if there was an alternative. Long term, those types of capabilities are planned. I'm not trying to be obtuse--merely want to see if the market gurus have ideas...

Would help to know how far your destination system is from the nearest highsec, which hauling ships you/your corp can fly, and what sort of quantities of raw materials you're looking to move. Signature removed. |

Doom Citadel Torpedos are also good candidates if you're trying to move mainly tritanium and pyerite.
Valar Morghulis is recruiting. |
