From boxes to curves.
E3 F.E.A.R. 3 video
The first one was ****ing ugly with horrible graphics, but at least the horror was fairly good (and the combat was OK). I'm glad they're actually making graphics that don't look like they're out of Quake 1.....

It'll be hard for it to be scary in Co-op. The original Fear did look good for its time if you ran it on high settings. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

It came out in 2006. I had it on high settings, it was still effing ugly. Everything might have well been made out of cardboard boxes...
Also, the whole fire fights with dust going everywhere was kind of cool, except for the fact that after the dust started getting everywhere, I couldn't see a damn thing, and the enemy could shoot right through it like they have freaking x-ray vision. They need to fix that.

I still have a pc zone magazine from when FEAR was first previewed. Having a quick look through it, just to confirm what I was thinking, it was the best looking game of 05 (Although it came out in 06, on consoles, so if you played it on one those your statement is understandable ) and was the Crysis of it's day, graphics wise.
I mean, Doom 3, Half Life 2, UT 2004 and Far Cry only came out a year before it. Call of Duty 2, D3: Ressurection of Evil, Bloodlines the Masquerade, Battlefield 2 were also released at the same time as FEAR. It was acclaimed at the time for having amazing graphics that we take for granted today. It was the benchmark to test your pc gaming rig.
Sure it looks dated now, the same way Crysis will be in 2013.

Lmfao, and all of those games you mentioned look MUCH better than F.E.A.R.
I might have been exaggerating when I said it looked like Quake 1 graphics, but comparing it to those games? That just makes F.E.A.R. look worse for it's graphics than with what I originally said. I've played Doom 3 recently also, I still have it, it looks MUCH better than this ugly game.
I liked F.E.A.R., don't get me wrong, it was fun to play through (though they absolutely ****ed up in a Devil May Cry 2 sort of way when they went off with perseus mandate, and then got away from the original character's story with F.E.A.R. 2 and left the expansions completely out of the story), but nonetheless, the game is UGLY.

Neither Perseus Mandate nor Extraction Point are "Canon" and were made by different studios from the original FEAR. Neither were very good, and PM was just ****. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

So which of the DLC is the better one? I bought the collect pack from Steam for a ú5, can't argue with that but I've heard FEAR 2 is pretty ****.

I enjoyed FEAR2. Extraction point had, In my opinion, far more scares than PM. Pm was just Shoot people, shoot people, OH SCARE, now back to shooting for the remainder of your visit. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

I liked extraction point. The hallucinations were a bit more cryptic, and I wasn't really sure whether or not Alma was helping me or not, but I still thought it was pretty decent....
