Someone recently annoyed me and I was wondering how much it would cost to grief him for about a week he is in an NPC corp.

Hiring a Mercenary is acceptable. Griefing however is against the rules and can get the GMs involved. Please be aware of this if you wish to accept this contract.

Hey Z, I have a question for you. Where exactly is the overlap? At what point is it considered Griefing. Say I want to have an Industrial Corp shut down that is competeing with mine and pay for a Perma Dec, then another one when they try to reform under a different name to compete with me? Is it ok to retarget the new compitition?
Where is line of how far you can go to protect your trade and wipe out the compititionm and what defines the difference? In Null Sec when another entity appears outside of your territory, you remove them as compitition and relentlessly attack them till they are forced away protecting your hold on unique resources. Is it the same even in High Sec, if yoou wage war or higher Mercs to do the same or counter others infringing on your trade?
At what point does it become honest to illeagle griefing of targets?

If you want to hire a merc convo me ingame The price depends on matters like who is the target, the cost of ship/fiting he will lose, wardecking his corp or alliance etc. No smacktalking No griefing (max two ship lost, if he don`t aggro back. For `dec this rule doesn`t exist)thats the grief line for us.
BTW Nice question Jaina, I would like to hear where is the line from the GM.

As long as you profit from the kill, it's not griefing, but "aggressive asset acquisition." So make sure to profit from it.

As far as I can tell, it is all based on context.
I've done several longer term wardecs that have been petitioned for griefing. Or at least the 'victims' in those cases have claimed they sent in multiple petitions.
Nothing has ever come from them. I suspect it is because throughout the history of the IEEE there has always been the fig-leaf of an in-game reason. That being the investigation of horrible corporations or alliances.
I can only assume that the GM response was either 'Our logs show nothing' or 'HTFU'.
I hope it was HTFU. (Actually..I hope it was TITF, but that's *very* unlikely) --
