COuld someone guide me along, or tell me how I would go along accomplishing registration like that? I am using PHP, and have access to mysql.

Which part? It's a text field you type a password into :P

No, how you interface with eve to automatically retrieve the character details, instead of a user directly inputting the EVE API ID and key.

Remember that it's just a functionnality to save 15 secs to user, since anyone can enter any character name they want in HTTP headers.
Somer's website works fine with it since there is no point to be registered with a char you don't own (since only that char will be able to fill the blink balance and get the items back) but it might not be the case with another one. _ WTS Capital BPOs |

Well, I was striving for a PHP based login system using mySQL, that had the user directly input the API key and User ID, choose a character, and login using that info, based on a username. I'm still deciding, since IGB uses javascript, and I have my login system completely using PHP.

Hmm? Not sure you are understanding the concepts - php and javascript are entirely unrelated and do not exclude each other. Furthermore, no javascript would (need to) be involved here. Finally, as mentioned above, the system as you are imagining it will not be secure. Sounds like you have a lot of reading to do before diving into security relevant code. --

well, I'm trying to work out the details, I know absolutely no Javascript, so I have to scratch out IGB completely. I was trying to think of ways to involve javascript gathering the info from the browser in eve directly from the game, and then using the php to handle the info to the mySQL databases.

You still don't get it. The IGB sets some (HTTP) request headers, which you can "grab" with anything on your server that is capable of doing so ... PHP, Perl, ASP.NET, whatever
As has been suggested here twice already: go and read the (API/IGB) documentation over at http://wiki.eve-id.net.
You might also want to read about HTTP headers and how to retrieve/handle those with PHP.
But as also already mentioned here: this is not a secure way, as anybody can spoof HTTP headers with the right tools. So don't rely on them as being correct/"verified". -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

That is why I was leaning towards manual ID/Key authentication, rather then just using the javascript/http headers.
