I think that people who gank ships of any kind should not get insurance for their lost ship. People have been ganking ships and get insurance for losing their ship to concord then turn around use the insurance ISK to buy a new ship to gank the same person or another person.
I know its just a game but gankers should get more then just a sec status hit and insurance payout if they lose their ship.

This must qualify as the most frequently suggested topic ever since amount of suicide ganking exploded a few months back. Fell on deaf ears. If CCP fix something, they'd need to first admit it's broken.

Reasonable solution but your trying to convince CCP here. Reasonable is not gonna work. --------------------------------------------- Hate Bots / RMT? Do something worthwhile and good for EvE and cause tears and anguish for others, while doing absolutely nothing yourself! Join up. |

While I am not sure what a Gnacker actually is, I think it very unfair that you're singling them out this way. I mean what if we just said no more insurance for Brutor?
I find the whole concept distasteful. --Vel

Here's a link to a dictionary, it helps you spell correctly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dictionary

The CSM brought up the issue of suicide ganking and feels it is too easy. The main problem is that this is in effect subsidized by insurance. CCP is aware of the issue and has discussed it at great length in- house. CCP feels it absolutely needs to compensate newbies that attack players by mistake in high-sec. This may get changed in the future but not in the summer expansion. It was made clear that suicide ganking is an accepted game mechanic.

^^ This faux argument coming from CCP I've heard before.
A reasonable solution -- which still remains equitable to newbies -- is to increase the premium when your ship loss rate goes up. And then to make it so, that it's not an absolute, but based on 'Times per X,' where X is a time-period (which has the advantage that the effects of a high premium will be abated over time when you start behaving again).
Also, even when I was a wee noob (several days old), I've never lost a ship to accidentally shooting a gate, or allowing myself to be baited in Jita by someone just targetting me. So, where do all these noobs allegedly lose their ships? --

While in theory I agree that insurance for suicidal acts of piracy in high sec is <beeping> stupid...
I'm reluctant to ask CCP for "countermeasures" against the wave of suicide ganks. I worry they will install some pointless "countermeasures" and then think they fixed the problem, and that we are now ok with the situation. I'd much rather have them admit there's a frickin' problem to begin with, and address THAT in a proper fashion.
Kill one ship in 0.0, and the local alliance will make sure you never set foot in their space again without being hunted like a dog. That's lawless space? In empire you can go on killing sprees, and the empires just shrug and turn a blind eye. That's the problem that needs to be addressed. Pirates and murderers should get kicked the hell out out of high sec much, much, much faster than they currently are. Suicide attacks in high sec should be limited to "the big scores" where the rewards are so great that banishment from the empire space (at least for that empire) is a fair price to pay. The hobby gankings we see these days... Sad and pathetic. :(

You may consider it to be false, but CCP don't and it's their game.
I do laugh when people whine about insurance though, as if removing it would stop gankers (gnakers).

Agreed... insurance on a stupid destroyer is hardly a big issue.

You may have not lost any ships doesnt mean others dont as well.
Plus that idea is fairly stupid as it punishes regular pvper's who lose ships regularly enough that there premiums would go up. The only way to really solve the issue is remove insurance completely, as no insurance company would ever insure any ships in eve except mining ships in 0.9-1.0 systems.

All CCP would have to do is write a code so that players x amount of days old can get away with getting concorded but players after x amount of age get 0 ISK if they get concorded
