It's the shadow map texture size. No AA will help you there.. at least not really (if you're looking for 'crisp sharp' edges). Professional graphics programs let you set the texture size. Would love that for eve too.. at least some slider - Low/Med/High - would be nice.
Other way around this is real time raytracing of shadows.. dunno where the industry is with that yet. Every other year some startup pops up and claims to have this solved.. support Public Idea Tracker | 24hr PLEX |

Only because everything else used to look much less spiffy, so the difference wasn't that great, but now it is, so you more than just notice it. _

No, actually shadows used to have a hi/med/low quality setting, and when set to hi looked much better than current. Performance hit was substantial though. ...

They had that before, then removed it. Someone at fanfest better ask them at the ask a dev hour. It's insane that they removed the shadow settings.
see the wormhole teaser trailer, that's ingame shadows as they looked when that expansion rolled out.

I still don't know wtf anti-aliasing is or does. No one will explain it to me. They think I'm trolling. So you can take whatever it is and go to hell.

Reduces the 'jaggies' and makes lines smoother. See this or this.
Makes games slightly more purdy.

The engine will render AA for all 3d models but not textures. Better shadows need higher shadow maps at the cost of ram and performance.

Why "should" they? They look Very unrealistic when they're jaggy..... Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona or content directly related to Eve Online. Spitfire |

If its at a big cost to performance, then it may be too high a price to pay, though I don't know why ppl would turn on shadowing at all at this stage , since it looks so poor. Kinda nullifies the beauty of the 3d models AA. Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona or content directly related to Eve Online. Spitfire |
