I just recently learned to scan via the tutorial , so I went out and practised some scanning and found my first wormhole.
Ive read a lot of information but i was still left was wondering, 1: are wormholes like mission areas? like a instanced area? 2: is the entance i found the only entrance to that 0.0 area? or are there multiple entrances in different locations for the same area?
thanks.

1) no, they are solar systems in their own right, WH just act like gates 2) there can be up to 7 WHs in or out of a W-space system, and 1 minimum

I see , i guess thats what makes them dangerous then , if theres multiple entrances to a 0.0 wh space.
thanks for the reply.

Edited by: Jovan Geldon on 01/01/2011 13:14:35 7 is a theoretical maximum, and hardly ever seen. If the wormhole system you enter is a class 1 or 3 then you can assume (at first, anyway) that the wormhole you came through is the only one. A class 2 will always have at least 1 more. If you find an entrance to a class 4 or above, bring friends or don't bother :)

Enter the wormhole, and use either this or the link given above in the in-game browser (you will need to add it to your trusted sites list when prompted). They will give you a wealth of info.

Bring an extra set of scan probes... best advice you'll ever hear regarding WH's.

Wormhole by ID
Wormholes can be either incoming or outgoing. The incoming side is always K162.
If you find a K162 it means someone has opened that wormhole (it is thought that K162 side does not exist until somebody starts to warp to the other side).
