Originally by: Dr BattleSmith CCP has been very smart to never allow isk to attain any kind of real-life direct-tradable value.
This avoids government intrusion.
I made bank playing poker tax free on SecondLife until someone realised it was real money, banned gamblining and started reporting earnings to tax agencies.
Isk having any kinda real value would be the end of Eve.
This, and /thread (I hope - was wondering when it would come up again).
The reason it actually works in SL is that they keep a tight lid on how much of their currency is in circulation (and the only way you can get 'new' currency there is from their Market, called LindeX - and they skim some RL$ off each side of every transaction).
That won't occur any time soon here (if at all). But if you have marketable skills for it, by all means give SL a go (I knew several folks who actually do make a living off it). 1 Mil ISK says you'll be back here in two months, screaming.
PS - If you do try it, and you run into Torley Linden, tell him that Alan (the ResMod) said hi.

Actually its not that bad of an idea as there are quite a few realms that do this. But then again, if CCP were to jump on board with this; EVE would not be within its own right unique anymore. Don't get me wrong i have often thought "why not", but some realms are "stand alone" so to speak. i hear CCP may have the market go micro (ye this is a small troll) as in some other realms i am in, if that were to be the case how would you feel about spending IRL money to buy fittings?(or however it might go)[my 2 pecs]
i guess where im going with this is if you want to get RL money out then why shouldn't CCP make it to where some items (other than plex) be bought with IRL money. Really though EVE is not set up for this kind of transactions, EVE is a subscription and as with most subscriptions you dont put money in to try and get money out, and even if CCP were to do this, just exactly how often do you think you will come out ahead or even break even? HOUSE ALWAYS WINS. IE: EVE is not set up as a "Casino" so to speak. HAVE FUN, GOOD LUCK, FLY WELL, FLY SAFE! |

Are you crazy ??? Suggesting new idea on Eve is forbidden, :), remember this in the future. Just think it hard by your self and will happen soon. Who tries to make eve a better place isnt welcome, i hardly learnt this, they dont think eve can be a way of life like us, thats why it fail. They want you to go work and be frustrated so you can come here to frustrate others instead of living eve :). The whole GTC is just stupid. Oh and we will still pay our sub.

"new" as in suggested several dozen times before on this forum?
(and a flawed idea on top of that as aside from all the resulting gameplay problems and possible lawsuits it is completely unclear how CCP would increase earnings by implementing this idea)
There is a pool of maybe 10-20 horrendous ideas that get rediscovered every few months by some noob who promptly decides that GD has to know asap about that genius work of his mind.
If the bad ideas were actually new (i.e. if people could actually be bothered to check if somebody has posted that idea before) reactions wouldn't be nearly that hostile.
However, reading the same bad idea for the umpteenth time posted by someone who wants me to provide useful input on his drivel but is too lazy to check whether his idea is actually new, how the arguments pro/con went when it was discussed last time (and links to these past threads clearly pointing out what part of his idea is new or in what respect circumstances have changed to make his idea more feasible than it was half a year ago), who is unable to explain the most basic basic arguments in favor of his own idea in his OP ("yo, I want RL moneyz for playing with internet spaceships" is hardly convincing) and who cannot even find the right forum for his post ("Features & Ideas" not that hard to understand, is it?) can only result in a "now get out of my GD and do your homework before coming back" response.

Where do i start.
After 3 years of playing Hello Kitty Online investing great deal of my time into the game,i did realize that game is huge time consuming, addictive and Hard to quit. IF you have been around you know what im talking about.Very slow curve of learning, lot of hours of reading and studding game mechanic, nead of obtaining credit to get gears and slow dynamic of doing almost anything makes game slow and time consuming. But dont get me wrong, game is good, too good it consumes you complitli, suck you into this virtual world of virtual accomplishments.....
Hard to quit to....just think about it.
So here i go,the point of this is we the players should have some real life benefits from this game.egosoft did make laws about credit-real life money trade and make all the profits go to the company(it is a normal move, afcourse). But i would really like to be able to make some real money from my time spent in front of screen playing game. And the fact that real money could be exchanged and made playing game could bring way more ppl into the game. Well remove "new" ;-).
And we all know ISK value in RL, what i want is just beeing able to do what i want with my isk, buy or sell(ships Items or just isk)... Not eve as job, but just beeing able to do what i want with my isk would be a great start for Eve.
I know all old posts about it so i dont even bother. Most people want eve to be just a game, when it clearly isnt anymore it's a way of life :), why not enance it to best? A lot of people will search its "way of life" some where else :), Anyway to many words for this i'm out peace ..!!. (^.^) .!!.. o8h ertg dgd gdghrdfs |

I know this crap a giant troll but I bite, I am space rich and isk rich, the problem with this game is there are 1000 people or more who make my sub 200b isk wallet look puny. There are no real isk sinks, so if there was a major isk sink it could help the game imho. I have a couple supercaps atm I can go welp both of them and replace them in a few hours, the hardest part is getting the damned akemons. on the other hand it would also change most peoples directive in eve. so meh alot of people already rmt there fortunes on the way out look at ebay or any of the other sites out there. think of this, If you could trade you pixels for a new bass-boat or atV most would do it.

Obvious troll is obvious.
More to the point, look at the companies that do allow this.
Entropia isn't that big, and McDonald's pays better.
Sony Online Entertainment does this..
DO YOU REALLY WANT CCP TO TAKE GAMEPLAY ADVICE FROM THE BASTARDS THAT RUINED SWG????????? R-E-A-L-L-Y????? Oh, and it pays less than McDonalds:)
Yes, I can earn serious money ingame. I use it pay my subs for 2 accounts. If I really wanted to work hard ingame, I could pay the subs for a whole fleet of miner/producer/market alts, just to ruin your fun:) Can you imagine the whingeing of people who got hulkageddoned? "Dude, I was paying for dinner/rent/prostitues with those!"

Playing EVE or any game for that matter, should be seen as entertainment purposes only. Playing a game is not a career, it's a choice you make to keep you entertained when you have nothing else to do. Obviously some people have less or no hobbies, so they spend more time playing and contemplating on how they can turn all that wasted time into money. Some people can turn hobbies into a career, however it's an actual real-life career. An example is if you play a sport and truly enjoy it; you can make it into a career by playing professionally. Gaming is the same, however it's more specific such as being a tester, quality assurance, or even a game developer, designer, or whatever the profession may be.
If you simply want to sit around and play games and get paid; I suggest you evaluate your life and goals. There's much more out there in the world, than being lazy and in doors. How about getting into a career related to gaming; if you enjoy gaming that much.
