And don't worry, it isn't for me, PC all the way!
However my girlfriend does need AV software and is the Mac user. I don't know much about what is out there for them. I did put on a free trial of Kaspersky, but want to know if there is a better option. I would prefer something that is free, but it isn't necessary.
Thanks in advance. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Long time mac and pc user, atm I don't have any AV installed on my MBP but I have a copy of Clam and Norton should I ever need it, until the Mac gets a substantial market share I would tell her not to worry, the strongest part of OS X's security is it's low market share, also the best antivirus I know of is a user with a little bit of sense.
Ive been using windows since 95 hit the shelves and only ever had a couple of virus problems and a OS X user for the better part of 10 years, believe me she doesn't need it.

Yeah this was my first thought too, it's like when people say "Mac's just work" and there's a Mac-fixit website.
Regardless to the thread, I have no idea.

Actually the biggest flaw with Mac's and Windows PC's is exactly the same, a f**king idiot at the keyboard.

I used to say this to my boss, it's a code 1-2f.
Problem is 1 or 2 feet from the computer.

Sophos makes a free version of its corporate anti-virus and spyware apps for mac. It isn't a cut down version and I have absolutely no idea why they are offering it for free.
Here it is
I am basically the unofficial Mac IT guy for my school, and this is part of my 'toolbox' for fixing macs.
Highly Recommended
