1. Add defensive cruisers or skills that allow to provide for fleet bonuses within a sphere of the cruiser. EG: Projected ECCM bonuses, projected missile defense, projected anti scan probe effectiveness, anti web, bubbles to prevent people from warping with in 0m, 10km etc etc as you skill up the area gets large or % to defend against XYZ is greater. Cannot equip RR systems.
2. Add phalanx type turrets that have a chance to shoot down incoming missiles directed at fleet. 3. Flak cannons effective at drone elimination against fleets. Cruisers would get bonuses to said turret systems etc etc.

hmmm..... i think i saw flak on a chimeara-class carrier once in a trailer or teaser. im for that idea. but for shooting missiles we have defender missiles and all the rest is kinda unbalancing the game

Uhm... so what's the difference between that and me using my destroyer and hunting drones?

So essentially all the stuff we already have, but centered on a single vessel that affects an entire fleet?
Edit: Not trying to shoot down, just... breaking the suggestion into little bits =D

someone didn't do their homework....
both smartbombs and defender missiles are capable of destroying ballistics.

And conversely, someone does not need to to do any homework to make the statment you did. It's simply patently obvious - Because, one sees both those mods being widely and commonly used for "destroying ballistics". So many fleet battles are lagged to hell and back with smarties and defenders going off everywhere, it really gets annoying.
Although if you want to equivocate and hang your hat on "capable", even that is debateable. |

Defender missiles are no bueno, and add to missile lag. A turret system would help mitigate that. Also the the flak would be in much the same manner (Target is close and not under direct player control, can't target player ships) and more towards pvp/player drones not NPC drones. Furthermore the cruiser would get bonuses to to defensive systems unlike current implementations.
Scanner "scrambler" as it were wouldn't negate a probe rather make it so it either takes longer to pin point, or can't warp in on you as close.

Please look into Command Ships and HICs sir. I believe they will provide your entire gang/fleet with [most of] the bonuses you have in mind. They do not even need to be in the vicinity to provide their bonuses either (just in system)... simply put them at the "top" the fleet and leave them in a safespot or chillin' somewhere around a station.

Congratulations... you have effectively removed Caldari missile boats and Gallente drone ships as a threat on field and buffed Minmitar and Amarr gun boats. _______________________
