I am thinking of manufacturing ships in Minmitar space. I mine lots of ores but lack Nocx and zydrine. Can someone advise me on the best way to set up a system to buy the minerals without eating up all the profit from the ship manufacturing? How do others do it without mining all the minerals yourself.
Thanks

How about looking for rare minerals in missioning waste? Missioners potentially pull in alot of rare minerals in loot. What about trying to get any excess loot froma missioning corp or missioners in your own corp? Industry noob here, but its an idea i'm thinking of trying. Good idea or not?

In my experience most "scrap loot" gives low amounts of the more valuable minerals when reprocessed so it takes a very large amount to get the amount of zydrine, megacyte, nocxcium, and even isogen you would need to build more than one item. Setting buy orders is probably the best way to go. I've just started doing this so I can't be of much help other than saying set the lowest price you can and be patient.

Figure out what your price point needs to be for the ship/module/whatever you want to build and sell. By price point, I mean what price you need to hit to compete with the existing sell orders in the location you want to sell. From this price point, figure out what profit margin you want to make. Sell price - margin = manufacturing cost. That manufacturing cost tells you how much you can spend on minerals and still make your margin. You know how many and what types of minerals you need based on the bill of materials in the blueprint. Look at the prevailing buy order prices for the minerals you need. If the cost of minerals even at the highest buy price allows you to make your margin, you don't have to be patient--become the miners best friend by placing buy orders for the minerals at the highest price that allows you to hit your margins. You'll turn your capital quicker, which can result in higher overall profits, instead of waiting two weeks for your buy order to fill. If you can't hit your margin with prevailing regional prices, look in other regions or look for a different product to build. You don't want to be in a situation where you have 50 mil isk sitting in buy orders that aren't getting filled for weeks, because you're not making any margin on escrow.

yes - I run lots of lvl 4 missions, and reprocess almost all the loot unless it is meta 4. But the amount of minerals is not sufficient to support production of battleships or other mineral-intense items. Cash flow is certainly important. Any suggestions as to where miner hubs are located so I can place buy orders. I am am a mission runner by practice, and am familiar with the combat mission agents and locations. Any suggestions on miner locations would be welcome.

Set a buyorder in a local trade-hub. If someone is selling to that order in large amounts, contact him to see if he'll make deliveries to your factory. [None] |

In my experience your completely wrong. Go get a mineral calc and find the loot that mostly consists of high end minerals.
