How busy is wormhole space lately? Do a lot of people still reside in wormhole space? Is every scanning? I've been out of EVE for a while, and I was wondering how popular wormholes are these days.

It's random. Some systems show no activity for days/weeks, other 100s of npc kills and 10s of jumps in a day even while inhabitants sleep. Compared to last year, I'd say high class residents no longer need to fear the CCRES T3 blob, but there's plenty of other good corps out there for pew. AHARM are cemented as kings atm. Most holes with static highsec and/or c3s are populated. |

It widely depends. Some wormholes are completely empty, and I tend to find those more often through low sec entrances. Some are far more dangerous. Corps don't kid around, either. The Blue suns came in behind my last excusion, setting up a bubble and bait pushing me into warping to it.
I was in a Tengu. Never had any experience with a bubble before, didn't know I'd stop 20 km from the exit. Yeah... you know that feeling you get when 9 black ops battleships decloak infront of you while you're caught in a web? Exactly.
So my point is simply to be careful because even an empty wormhole can turn violent very fast.

They're quite busy and more people are still coming in.

While WH space is quite popular, there is also a lot of churn due to people moving in but either not knowing what it involves as far as commitment or having their tower blown up with all the attendant structures. If they're really unlucky, they get podded without a scanning alt in their WH. You see those every now an again on the forums paying for their WH's location.
WH fights also tend to be a lot smaller and it's usually one side ambushing or baiting the other side.

Thanks. I used to do a bit of soloing around there, but from reading forums and hearing people move in, I figure it must have gotten busier. Thanks agiain for the answers.
