So I was just looking to buy Medieval II, and found that I could download it w/expansion for $10: $5 less than on steam.
Curious to know how easy it is to redownload stuff, if I have to manual patch it, DRM, etc.

I've never downloaded anything from Amazon but I just wanted to say you should be cautious, they seem fairly new at it.
Just read some reviews of the service or something before you use it.

though i hate steam with all my might, buying with steam means no matter what you have the ability to redownload the game for free

As long as the Steam servers are up and Valve is still in business.
How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming

I reinstalled windows yesterday. And to get all my steam games available i just ran steam and all my games were available again. That and the automatic patching makes it very good.

Edited by: Simeon Tor on 09/01/2011 00:46:23 I've started buying all my games through services like Steam and Direct2Drive to alleviate the mountain of games that's building up, the reasoning being that I wouldn't have hundreds of discs lying around taking up space and I could install my games anywhere. So far the plan is going well but now I have to remember the login details to all the places I've bought games from. That and you have to wait for them to download, but I'm patient.
Might want to look into Onlive, I've heard good things.

I'm a long time steam user; I'm simply curious about anybody who has used Amazon's PC Game Download service, because I can't find a single review on the web.

I think you have your answer then
You could always try it though, if it doesn't work out for whatever reason (server crashes or whatever), they still have to deliver the goods.
Oh! And you could be the first person to ever review their service, maybe they'll give you something if you're nice.
