Edited by: John Ellsworth on 09/01/2011 23:24:10 Just a FYI to those that may not know about it , or even understand the event . During this event players of all types join-up to destroy at any costs a select group of ship types for prizes that are supposed to be offered by the promoters of this event. The destruction happens in all sectors and types of space in new eden to include all high sector areas. when a ship is targeted and destroyed in a high sector area it is usually a combined effort of several players in a "suicide gank" type of play style with only one thing in mind , to destroy your vessel. The types of ships that are targeted in the past have been all mining barges and exhumers all industrial support ships and I have seen rumors that the new ship the "noctis" will be added to the kill list this time around. As far as I know this will be the 4th event of this type that has been executed in EvE since the conception of the idea. I strongly urge all players of EvE to sustain from using any of the vessels on the kill list during the event this time around . In the past it's usually scheduled to last 2 weeks. There are many things to do in this game besides loose your ship and feed an act of in-game terrorism IMHO. One thing that makes this type of event so popular with it's organizers is the fact that other players either don't know , understand or care about what is happening until of course they have lost one or more of their ships to the event. This time around Id like to "stop the event" before it ever even starts by simply informing the player base of what is at stake and the possible ramifications of ignoring that the event is taking place. below I wanted to link to their web-site of the organizers of the event so people can be ready this time, but it does not seem to be up yet . I will update the thread as this information becomes available to the public. Hopefully we will nip this one before it ever begins .. Fly Smart , Fly Safe -TLR

I for one support this message, everyone please stop mining that week and let my mineral investments pay off. seriously, im banking on mexallon and isogen jumping up. So make me rich dont mine that week.
ALSO!!
I am offering hulkageddon packages. Typical package will include, 1 catalyst, 8 t1 neutron blasters, and mag field stabilizers all tech one. Please pre-order and and get a locked in price, cause when hulkageddon lands prices will go up up up up! Due to minerals going up.

Or mine in a Hulk in a quiet system while watching local and using Directional Scanner.
But that involves being at the keyboard and very few miners do that.
Thats why I, as a miner and industrialist approve of Hulkageddon.
I might actually donate something this year for spreading Hulkageddon love to the Outuni system.

Step 1: Buy Shuttle (or any inexpensive ship.)
Step 2: Rename to "Kesshisan's Hulk"
Step 3: Park in someplace very populated, or at an asteroid belt.
Step 4: Wait.

Just put a shield extender on all of your mining craft and you will be strong enough to last through the first 30 seconds and all the rocks in your trunk will act like a spoiler so when you hit warp you'll burn out fast for them to touch again. You just have to make sure to jettison your ore as you're accelerating and you'll blast off immediately because of less mass after the burnout.

Well my noctis aligns in 4 seconds and cloaks and ecm bursts (vewy, vewy, carefully) so I'm going to have fun trying not to get killed, but damned if I'll give in to their demands that I not fly a barge or industrial.
Thats what the pirates say when they are listening intently to your tears. Don't Mine.
Better to ignore heckles and maybe get away...
-Fly Aligned and travel at 75% of your maximum speed. -watch your local and know who frequents the system -add pirate corps to your contacts with a bad standing to see their members easier when they show up to roll you. (lots of pirates use neutral alts to scout targets and gank when your pants are conveniently missing or down. Be advised) -Don't fly AFK unless you really really need to pee and then maybe a bottle nearby or something... -uh don't mine? wait I already said don't give in to their demands... tanking your ship might be of no use as they send sufficient numbers to deal with you (you have been scouted and passive scanned). -Happy new year and GLHF if you get taken down don't cry about it. LEARN from your mistakes. Anything you do in eve usually means death or wasted isk the first few attemps. Even Mining in Highsec.
cheers.

seems to me if they fixed the insurance system so you didn't get a payout if the po-po's nuked your ship this might actually be a worthwhile event to support as there is more at stake then just the time and a small cost for modules of the attackers...
i don't know about how stuff works where you live but around here if i commit a crime and then the police explode my car as i am trying to escape, insurance will just laugh and decline any attempt at a claim

Thank you for all the input , both positive an negative , but the point is not to look for ways to "beat the ganksters" rather my intent is merely to inform the uninformed of whats up and whats at stake "your ship" As for the last comment , lol I have never seen a board with so many .. un-helpful people in it so if you really wanted to report something you could start by reporting your self , if that shoe fits of course .. How come whenever someone starts a Hulkageddon thread in general, it quickly gets whisked away to the Events board?
Is CCP embarrassed that they allow events like Hulkageddon in their game? It seems it.

Here is an easy way to not be on the kill list, fly a cruiser fit it with mining lasers and you will be fine.
