I don't know who here is a Stargate fan or not. But i loved the whole Stargate franchise. Since SGU was just cancelled i think CCP should make a ship from the franchise to celebrate one of the best TV shows in my opinion. Anyone else have thoughts/comments on this?

Yes boss, I also agree that CCP should make a ship of some sort in likeness of the show, to be a tribute to the show itself.

Edited by: Kruddcake on 10/01/2011 03:33:14 Agreed!
Having watched the series from the beginning, SGU was the best (SG1 and SGA still amazing, just not the same level of depth). Off-your-seat action & drama for most episodes. Amazing.
Would be awesome if EVE included the Desinty amongst it's list of ships. :)

This is very sad indeed, I agree that there should be a ship in honor of the stargate legacy if it were possible without infringment.
Also a firefly class vessel in honor of the greatest show, and saddest cancelation of all time. Heres to you Wash.

I don't think I'd like either of those as eve ships, though they are nice on their shows.
...now an Asgard modeled dreadnought or bs might be sweet

I thought the Primae was sort of fireflyish.. though in a very subtle way.

I found the SGU mediocre at best but it's always sad when a sci fi show dies.

Because damn Serenity (the movie, not the ship) had to go and shove a fifteen foot pole through the guy's chest... That just made me sad. A Serenity-style blockade runner with a huge MWD boost (and a big fat glowing ass) would be awesome.

Couldn't agree more. The Daniel Jackson with Serenity based ship designs would make eve a much better place!

Action? did anything ever happen during the show? drama maybe but it was very bad drama that consisted of lots of self pitying emo rage.
It was a terrible show and it deserves to be put out of its misery like this.

'Just cancelled'? Did you know there's also a new thing called DVD?
I find it interesting that for a show set mostly on a ship in space the show never really got off the ground.

They should have never canceled SGA for SGU anyway. Bad mistake there. Pay the damn actors ffs.
SGU sucked from the start.

No idea about you, but I was only grudgingly watching SGU to begin with. It was basically a heavily drawn-out soap opera filled with mostly unsympathetic characters. Ferchrissakes, my favourite character out of the entire show was RUSH, which is "supposed" to be some mild form of bad guy or the designated jerk, but it ended up as the only one I could actually call "human". I am not surprised they canceled SGU. What I am surprised about is that it got a second season to begin with. _

SGU was like Neighbours in space. So glib and trite. It's annoying how SG can get so much funding for this crap where Babylon 5 and new BSG had limited budgets.

Honestly, I doubt any new series can top the Epicness of Political Intrigue plus Alien Exploration of Babylon 5 alongside the incredible depiction of a ragtag fleet of too human survivors during war like BSG did.
For some reason, after BSG seems most series are trying to cook up a weird formula of Drama that ends up in /wrist FML "I'm so interesting" drama queen whiney emo goth Vampire The Masquerade Saturday night roleplaying Glee dropout quality acting.
At this rate we might end up with a Sci-Fi series that is basically High School Musical, Gossip Girl and It Girl in Space.
Last awesome sci fi series I saw was BSG (Caprica sucked).

spoiler alert
Ok I have a question on battle star galactica.
Starbuck crashes at the end(dies), then she shows up with no explanation. Then at the very end she disappears when she is talking with Apollo.
WTF. What was that all about?
And then...the scene where she was having sex with Dr. Gauis Baltar? wtf? (I think there was a bit where she was having sex with like everyone on the ship or something.) ----------------------------------- They see me trollin... |

My interpretaion is that Starbuck was like the archangel Gabriel - a messenger from 'God'. Though a prototype Cylon hybrid mind called her the 'herald of the apocalypse'. That hybrid also said 'It's all happened before, and will all happen again' which is a philosophical statement along the lines of Eternal Recurrance. Now from this looking at Starbuck you could say Starbuck was the pre-cursor for one apocalypse and by jumping the Gallactica to our 'Earth' has sowed the seeds for armageddon.

****ING SYFI
Why not just change their name to, WRESTLING + PARANORMAL ?
SGU started with Friday night slot; then it got replaced by MORE ****ING WRESTLING and moved to a deathslot.
I'm really disappointed too, because the show was just starting to pick up, and even more importantly, Rush was/is one of my favorite characters ever. He was probably the most well-written and well played character on the show, and easily the most hilarious to watch ***** out everybody. "Human," from the first season and featuring Rush and his wife, was one of the best episodes. If the show was still running, I'd ask for the death of Chloe and the resurrection of Ginn.
BSG: great show, great characters. The music was absolutely sublime.

I know :(
The second half of season 2 has already been filmed, so we will see that at least. Though will be sad to watch it, knowing there is no more coming.
----
Please people... keep hating of the show to a minimum. I'm one of those that enjoyed SGU, but I understand there are many that did not. We are always going to disagree on this.
Let's instead discuss whether there should be a ship in EVE that commemorates Stargate as a whole (SG1, SGA, SGU) ... I think most of us would agree ... that yes, we would want that.
