i mean think about, pimply face carebear gets a word of incursion in a system then proceeds to the said system with his faction/officer fitted BS thinking he is the best pver in the field and destined to be the eve's savior from sansha only to realize that those group of tempest are not there to shoot at sanshas.

Yes. Twice. Just for the record, some of the Incursion frigates I've seen do more damage than entire L4 missions. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Got 20 people fleeted up one of the 20 is not in my corp in a RR circle jerk? Awesome. I will shoot the one not in my corp to get all the other players concorded for RR a GCC. For maximum effect I will spread my guns around as much as possible through the fleet to make sure that I gain around a few billion ISK in killboard efficiency too.

The only way to stop guys like me is to make the Icursion sansha invasion pockets like 0.0 then it would stop alot of the high sec game mechanics from being used agaist you ....there would be no excuse from players doing it, because they would know its a 0.0 area before going in .....but sadly i don't see that happening which is great for me

To clarify for the folks at home: I took my regular L4 mission-running yawnfest Drake into an incursion site populated by a dozen frigates. Those frigates had me almost into armour before I got out: they scram, they web, they jam, they neut, and they're small and fast. Angel Extravaganza bonus room doesn't hurt that hard, and is easier to clear!

Always assuming said ganker can be bothered to travel all the way to the incursion from Motsu or Dodixie.

àor, for more perspective, a standard Sansha gatecamp I tested against (1 BS, 2+ Cruisers, 2+ Frigates) delivered just over 1200 DPS omnidamage. The frigates stood for 300 of those. And that's just a small "nuisance" group that's just there to be annoying, not to provide much in the way of a fight.
Happy hunting!

Edited by: Medarr on 11/01/2011 21:28:07 1 - fit omni resists 2 - bring logie's 3 - do not warp in alone. BS should warp 1st logies a bit later and as last the rest, cruisers, frigs, pods ect. 4 - set up fleet boosters to help deal with system wide incursion effects. 5 - Incursions show up on map.

Incursion checklist: 1. New PvE content. Check. 2. PvE content that encourages public participation and cooperation. Check. 3. Hyper-competitive "winning fleet takes all" reward. Check. 4. If too many people participate in a public event, the rewards are reduced. Check. 5. BPC reward can be ninja'd. Check. 6. Concord aggression mechanics can be abused to grief pick-up fleets. Check. 7. War decs can be abused to grief pick-up fleets. Check. 8. PvE fittings will be at a disadvantage in PvE content. Check. 9. NPC abilities are way out of whack compared to what PC capsuleers can do. Check. 10. PvE incursion content makes current PvE content (lower bounties, reduced resists, etc..) less fun. Check. 11. Players who don't have the time, inclination, skills, and/or ships/resources can either sit in station or view the scenery while jumping from gate to gate with their stuff to a new system. Check. 12. ???? 13. Incursion expansion is successful!

How much of that DPS is from your reduced resists and how much is from the NPCs having increased firepower?

I tested those numbers on hullà Can't remember right now if the suitcase was actually affected by the system effects. For armour and shield, resists were down by ~10%, so if the same held true for the hull resists, the raw output was ~1100 DPS total, so it's still nasty. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

So, to clarify (since I haven't tested any of the Incursion stuff on SiSi), not only do I want to fit a ship for PVP, but I want to join a fleet, because my Hurricane, all by itself, will die horribly? Even in .5+ systems? Seriously? And if you're reading this, you've fallen into a signature trap. You owe me 1m ISK. |

It's team-oriented content. Some of the simpler ones can probably be run solo (as can some of the "open-space" cleanup), but you'll need some rather beefy hardware to do so and you'll get paid less if you do it with more or less people involved than the site is intended for. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Seriously though, anyone attempting an Insursion flying with people he doesn't know is foolish to say the least. Darwinism should sort that out quickly enough.
Of couse, since the Logi will likely be primary, as well as any new ships warping in for a quick gank, that Darwinism may go both ways. ===== My mission? To kill the enemy and break their toys SIR!!!. |
