I read somewhere recently that training Tactical Shield Manipulation to V can have negative effects. Is this true?
The skill reduces chance of damage penetrating the Shield (causing Armor bleed) by 5% per level, reducing it to zero at level V, when the shield drops below 25%.
I wondered if having it at V was an issue because you would actually take more damage to your shields when they are just past their highest rate of recharge? Is it better to take the Armor bleed at this point and maintain your shields close to their max recharge?
Or did I just read a load of rubbish and training to V is actually a good thing? :)

I don't know, but if you're below 5% of your shield (for level 5 to kick in), then your recharge is practically nonexistent and no amount of armor bleed is going to do any diffrence anyway.

Yes. TSM IV lets you live longer than TSM V unless under very very specific instances. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Both It is rubbish that it is bad , however it is not considered of any use above level 4 and only people that have it to 5 are the folks that trained up for shield based capitals before they changed prerequisites or the folks just trained for the heck of it.
There is no real point doing it in my opinion nowadays.

I'm not sure if this is right, but I heard the damage that leaks through your shields are some sort of 'extra' damage that don't affect your incoming damage on your shields, which would make Tactical Shield Manipulation V viable... THOU I DONT KNOW LOL

It's not. It's simply part of the overall damage that hits the different (and often lower) resists on your armour. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |
