Edited by: Anneka Tong on 14/01/2011 19:18:47 It's simple.
Humans have 46 chromosomes.
You want samples from ones with 48. These don't exist.
This makes your project bad science, and no surprise it failed.
I do have some fine tobacco though. That has 48 chromosomes. Maybe that would be more suitable?

OK, Ms I-created-naturally-irradiating-sheep, let me explain this for you, quite plainly.
WE UNDERSTAND THAT HUMANS HAVE 46 CHROMOSOMES. WE ARE WILLING TO DEAL WITH THAT AND CREATE THE OTHER TWO OURSELVES AFTER PURCHASE.
How slow are you?
I made sure to bold the important part and use smaller words for your own comprehension.

The plan is irrelevant. Her point is about the OP right here in this thread:
Originally by: OP I'll also be willing to purchase up to 20 normal slaves for 200,000 isk each, these slaves need to have the following gene strings, which will need to be varified by me before purchase:
This is followed by amongst others:

Chromosome 48 UUUU GGGG CCCC AAAA TTTT A--A AAAT AATA ATAA TAAA T--T GTAT GAGA CCUG TCAG GCCG CCAT
The text is clear. Nikita Alterana wants 20 normal slaves with chromosome pairs that doesn't exist. Rather hilarious, but this show of utter ineptitude doesn't surprise me when Angels are involved.

Edit: I can fully assure you, given what I know and have deliberately left out, is that being crass or showy is far from our overall goal here. Its shallow and somewhat insulting to think that anyone would honestly believe that that is all we are capable of.
You'll create those entire chromosomes yourselves, even though all you know of them are a handful of tandem repeats? Good luck with that.

See, I know full well what the plan is, and I'm not willing to reveal that in order to explain everything to your tiny little brain.
Don't talk to Anneka like that.
The original post requested to purchase slaves with those chromosomes present and incorporating those sequences. you're now saying that you don't need them and that you will synthesize them post-acquisition. That's a contradiction.
Don't you damn well dare call her stupid when she points it out. -

Don't you dare. As outdated and useless as I find it, slavery does exist in the Empire and Kingdom for a very important reason.
Once you stop seeing isk-symbols fly by your head you will come to your senses and re-consider seeling slaves to the Angel Cartel.
This treasonous ***** has made it quite clear she intends to use these people like lab-rats in whatever experiment she's cooking up.

Oh dear...
I believe you are operating under a misconception. My interest in this matter is not to establis a Khanid/Cartel trade route. Lord no!
Without going into details, I am interested in a purely military application to her experiment aimed towards matters of defense for the Kingdom.
I realize that many here are driven by fiscal concerns. Please remember though that I am a Cyberknight from an old and moderately sucessful House. Money is not a concern. Defense of Khanid is my objective.

That does put a real hurt on any claim that Amarrian slavery is for the benefit of the slave - Not that most of us believed that in the first place, but some of your ilk put a lot of effort into defending the claim. Good to see that you're willing to sacrifice a slave or three to a mad scientist, perhaps we can quit with the charade now.
I won't accuse you of doing it for the money, as Nikita is offering a pittance for something worth far more than that. Any person with those genetics (If they exist at all, which I'll leave to the more scientifically minded to argue) is worth more than 200,000 ISK. Add three to five zeroes and you might get somewhere. - In the embrace of Hell, I am no longer afraid, for with His damned embrace, I have become that which I once most feared: Death. |

Irrelevant. Bartering slaves within the confines of the Empire or Kingdom is fine, they go from one master's duty to enlighten them to another, you however intend to sell them to a criminal organization with no care in the world for their salvation, only their use as guinae-pigs in this joke of an operation.
I would ask, Lord Mook, that you consider how you may do your duties more effectively; I think there would be better ways to aim for the Kingdom's protection than selling our would-be faithful to our enemies.

I understand that there is some interest as to the whys and hows of this particular thread. I've recieved multiple communications from people wanting clarification.
that said, my XO encounted a small problem and had to overstay her trip for a little while.
She will be returning soon, and may, or may not reply before she returns - i cannot say, either way.
There has also been a very slight outside problem unrelated to this project that may make certain questions unanswerable due to logistical concerns that have arisen as of this morning.
Be patient while we work this out... an answer "may" be given "Soon". --

Ghosts and Spirits, I leave for a weekend to visit my parents and a simple request turns into a flame war. Yes, obviously normal humans have 46 chromosomes, the sample slaves I'm looking for have two extra sex chromosomes, its a fairly rare condition, effecting at most 1 in ever 18,000-45,000 humans, the extra chromosomes are normally caused by genetic aberrations, however, a small number are caused by mistakenly activated relic code from Jovian genetic engineering projects. Unfortunately, most slaves born with debilitating mental conditions are put down since they are effectively useless and tend to degrade the quality of the rest of the slave stock if left to breed.
Still I'm confident that somewhere out there are the people I need.

Hmmm... very crude methods indeed. I'd have thought you would terminate the fetus prior to birth or test your slaves for any predisposition to genetic mutation or mental dysfunction and simply sterilize them. I guess your evil ways are not as refined as I had presumed.
A "luck of the draw" approach to the breeding process was outdated centuries ago.

My comment was not so much about your evil ways Ms. Alterana. Certainly evil is something we are all susceptible to and need to be mindful of... uhm, I guess, kudos to you for being so enlightened as to just give in.
I was really commenting about how unrefined and primitive your evil methods are... Do you still hunt with rocks and sticks too? Perhaps you still use processed wood pulp to wipe your pooper?

Strangely enough I happen to have a Janitor in my employ who fits your criteria. I probably would have remained ignorant both of your purchasing request, and of his genetic abnormality had not the physician I contract with for my staff's health care needs not been professionally curious of your motives.
Obviously anyone I hire must undergo a thorough genetic screening as part of their background check, can't be too careful in times like these, and his file apparently matches. The poor dear has never been very bright, but he is very hardworking.
Of course I have no intention of turning him over to you, but I thought you might be interested to know that your search has turned up at least one positive result!
